This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO) , a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. All-Domain Operations comprises multi-domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations.

Summary

HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a Network Engineer to support the 603rd Air and Space Operations Center (AOC) by serving as a subject matter expert in the implementation and sustainment of communications infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of network infrastructure and hardware, along with the ability to implement, manage, and troubleshoot a variety of network devices, including wireless access points (WAPs), firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers. Strong expertise in application transport and network infrastructure protocols is highly preferred!

What you will do

- Maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.

- Performing disaster recovery operations and data backups when required.

- Protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning and implementing network security measures.

- Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems.

- Maintaining, configuring, and monitoring virus protection software and email applications.

- Monitoring network performance to determine if adjustments need to be made.

- Conferring with network users about solving existing system problems.

- Operating master consoles to monitor the performance of networks and computer systems.

- Coordinating computer network access and use.

- Designing, configuring and testing networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software.

- Additional duties as assigned or required.

What we are looking for

- 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.

- Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.

- Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.

- Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, and controllers.

- Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.

- Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.

- Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection.

- Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.

- Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT and outside the organization.

- Network security experience.

- LAN and WAN experience.

- Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI.

Bonus points for...

- Bachelor’s in IT related field with a network engineering focus and 5 years related experience.

Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
