Job Summary
This HR Partner is responsible for several key functions in the HR Department. This position is responsible for the payroll functions of UGC, ensuring payroll is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. This position also assists with benefit administration, reporting and support for recruitment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Payroll
- Maintains and reviews the HRIS (Paycom) to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including hours, pay rates, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
- Continuously looks for ways to streamline processes for both payroll/benefit processing and enhance the employee experience.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage and hour laws and best practices.
Benefits
- Conducts Benefit orientations with new hires within first 2 days of employment.
- Reconciles monthly benefit invoices and ensures communication with carriers is accurate and in line with our contracts.
- Coordinates employee savings plans in payroll to include 401k, FSA, HSA, and deferred compensation programs.
- Completes records, reporting, and other documentation required by federal, state, and provider rules, regulations, and policies.
- Prepares reports necessary for ACA, 5500s, Fiscal Year End, as well as other requested reports.
- Proactively keeps employees updated on benefit information.
- Coordinates the Open Enrollment process in Paycom.
Other
- Prepares month end reports.
- Helps with recruitment as needed (e.g. review resumes and/or schedule interviews)
- Prepares reports and assists with audit requests.
- Ensures all locations have updated compliance posters.
- Assists in other areas of Human Resources as needed.
Qualifications
Required Education, Skills & Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Human Resources is preferred but equivalent work experience and education will be considered.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years of progressively responsible, multi-state experience in a payroll function.
- Demonstrated technical capacity and aptitude for technology and working with the payroll software programs as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Possesses strong analytical abilities, detail oriented, and problem-solving techniques.
- Demonstrates exceptional organizational skills and can proficiently prioritize daily job duties and deadlines independently.
- Must be able to express or exchange ideas in English by means of the spoken word and written format.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment – both in proximity and practice.
- Must be proactive, adaptable and flexible. Will possess a high degree of self-awareness and be both detailed and strategic.
