SALARY:

$27.20 to $33.25 per hour, the posted salary range represents the minimum to the midpoint within RVU’s compensation plan. RVU’s full compensation structure provides a minimum to a maximum range. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.

Primary Purpose

Provide Office of Testing (OOT) exam building, operation of complex exam software and learning management system software, and back-up leadership on their campus. Utilize technical skills to create and review assessments and related events (exams, quizzes, remediations, make-ups, and post-exam reviews); this function requires collaboration and communication with personnel at all campuses and at various levels within the University. Provide technical support and instruction to students and faculty in testing protocol and use of testing software. Provide back-up training and leadership to the proctor team, and keep up to date on all methods of proctoring and maintaining academic integrity. Provide technological consultation on exam-related policies and processes as requested.

Essential Job Functions

- Work collaboratively with OOT Director, Assistant Director, and all course and program directors, in the development, production, administration, and scoring of quizzes and examinations to meet curricular evaluation needs, including special projects for Course Directors.

- Assist students with questions about testing and scores, troubleshoot user issues with examination software.

- Under guidance of Director and Assistant Director, maintain portal information for students regarding posting of grades and dissemination of OOT policies and procedures.

- Build exams for all programs and provide back-up assistance for other Technicians and the Testing and Assessment Specialist when needed.

- Orient and train new Course Directors and other faculty on the exam item submission process and other processes relevant to their respective roles.

- Provide primary administration for the National Board of Medical Examiners Testing Portal.

- Serve as campus lead for exam and quiz preparation and security, a task which includes:a) Assemble exam and quiz questions consistent with Office of Testing Policy deadlines. b) Prepare draft(s) of exam for review by faculty. c) Enter questions into examination software with categories to facilitate curriculum mapping and development of the secure test item bank. d) Enter faculty members’ revisions to questions e) Post final, approved version of exams for student download.

- Establish and maintain system for secure and confidential storage of student testing materials per FERPA guidelines.

- Other operational and leadership duties as requested by OOT Director and Assistant Director.

- High level of professionalism, ethics, and ability to maintain confidentiality concerning sensitive and personal (including FERPA-protected) information

- Ability to multi-task and problem solve innovatively

- Leadership skills with students and employees at all levels

- Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment

- Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines

Minimum Qualifications

- College degree from an accredited institution or relevant professional certification and two (2) years’ experience in technical applications.

- No degree/certification with at least five (5) years’ experience in technical applications

- Ability to learn new software programs

- Presentation and leadership skills

- Experience providing technical assistance in a professional environment

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution

- Professional background in education and testing

- Two (2) years’ experience using a Learning Management System or examination administration software

- Experience building or administering electronic exams in ExamSoft ®
