What You'll Do

- Implement and manage Fire Protection and Emergency Preparedness Program Plans across multi-licensed (NRC / NC / IL) facilities, incorporating NRC regulations, orders, advisories, applicable state regulations, NFPA codes, and requirements from all Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) — including the NRC, American Nuclear Insurers (ANI), and Factory Mutual (FM Global)

- Lead a team of employees and contract personnel supporting fire protection and emergency preparedness programs

- Design and execute site drills and exercises that demonstrate emergency response capability and effectiveness; maintain readiness of programs, procedures, personnel, and equipment

- Serve as the primary technical resource for fire protection and life safety programs; ensure ongoing facility compliance with NFPA and related life-safety codes

- Oversee EP program performance across sites by ensuring training currency, drill completion, and maintenance of EP equipment and supplies

- Develop and manage program systems and compliance frameworks; translate complex federal and state regulations into executable operational processes

- Support licensing activities related to EP and FP, including the preparation of technical documentation that demonstrates regulatory compliance — interfacing with NRC, state agencies, ANI, and FM Global inspectors

What You'll Bring

Required:

- Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering discipline

- One of the following experience paths:
- - Minimum 5 years of experience developing emergency response programs, including training, procedures, surveillances, drills, and exercise design at a regulated facility
- - Minimum 15 years of experience supporting emergency response programs in a regulated environment
- U.S. work authorization (this role is subject to export control requirements; sponsorship is not available)

- Must be 18 years of age or older

- Ability to pass a Nuclear Safety Training Test and follow strict radiation protection, criticality, and industrial safety requirements; ability to wear protective clothing when entering controlled access areas

- Ability to walk up and down stairs

Preferred / Desired:

- Master's degree in a science or engineering discipline

- Experience in technical or operational safety roles at NRC-regulated fuel cycle facilities licensed under 10 CFR Part 70

- Familiarity with NFPA , ANI , and FM Global standards and fire protection/life-safety codes

- Demonstrated ability to interface with the NRC, state regulators, mutual aid agencies, and other Authorities Having Jurisdiction in a formal regulatory capacity

- Experience developing regulatory compliance documentation — translating complex regulatory requirements into operational programs and procedures

- Strong decision-making capability in high-stress, time-sensitive situations

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information to regulators, leadership, and operational teams at all levels

- Ability to manage multiple program elements simultaneously while balancing business priorities

- Strong leadership and mentoring skills; ability to share technical expertise across organizational boundariesMaster’s degree in science or engineering discipline
- Experience in technical operational safety roles at NRC regulated fuel cycle facilities licensed under 10 CFR 70.
- Able to effectively interface with offsite mutual aid agencies, regulators and other authorities having jurisdiction in a NRC & state regulated license capacity
- Ability to effectively communicate complex technical issues and information throughout all levels of the organization and to nuclear regulators.
- Demonstrated ability to function calmly and effectively in high-stress situations, including response to site emergencies
- Ability to make decisions with speed and accuracy based on best available information
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interface at all levels of the organization
- Ability to evaluate the external impact of business activities and decisions on potential customers, market / industry, media, government and communities
- Ability to manage multiple aspects of fire protection and emergency preparedness programs while supporting business interests
- Ability to interface effectively with operational and regulatory authorities in a matrix organization
- Significant experience with fire protection and emergency preparedness programs at a NRC licensed nuclear facility
- Familiarity with NFPA, ANI, FM Global and fire protection/life-safety codes & guidance
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, ability to guide others effectively.
- Shares technical expertise across organizational boundaries and utilizes strong mentoring skills to support the development of Emergency Preparedness program.
- Builds strong working relationships with nuclear regulators, business partners, customers, functional leaders, and engineers.

Eligibility Qualifications:

- For Controlled Access Area: must be able to successfully pass a Nuclear Safety Training Test; follow strict radiation protection, criticality, and industrial safety regulations; wear protective clothing to enter the area.
- Must be 18 years or older and have legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Ability to walk up and down stairs.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $129,000.00 and $214,900.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
