MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Field Electrical Engineer to join our team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This is an on-site position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Constructing components, subunits, or simple models or adapting standard equipment; may troubleshoot and correct malfunctions;
- Following specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment.
- Conducting various tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement, selecting, preparing, and operating standard test equipment and recording test data
- Extracting and compiling a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, processing data, identifying errors or inconsistencies, selecting methods of data presentation.
- Assisting in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts; developing information concerning previous operational failures and modifications and using judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seeking sources to clarify information.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Candidates must have hands-on experience in new-build small craft (<65 ft) design and acquisition specification writing.
- 5+ years of experience with Propulsion Systems (Engines, Jets, Propellers).
- Experience with Electrical Systems (Power distribution, Generators, Batteries).
- Experience with Electronics & Navigation (Comms, Radar, Cyber).
- Experience with Auxiliary Systems (Piping, Steering, HVAC, Bilge).
- Knowledge of how shipyard build contracts are written and how to document design rationale.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with the Navy Small Craft division
Clearance Requirements:
- US Citizenship required an active Secret Clearance
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move equipment weighing up to 50 Lbs
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50%
- Be able to ascend and descend ladders as required for installations
- Must be able to position oneself to install communications systems, server racks, or potentially running transmission lines as required
The projected compensation range for this position is $64,600.00-$107,100.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
