Centerstone is seeking a compassionate and motivated Associate Counselor to join our Residential Treatment team in Quincy, Illinois. In this role, you will support individuals experiencing mental health and substance use challenges by helping them build the skills, confidence, and stability needed for long-term recovery and improved quality of life.

Working under the supervision of a Qualified Addiction Professional, you will provide therapeutic services, facilitate groups, assist with treatment planning, and play a vital role in helping clients achieve their recovery goals.

What You'll Do

Client Care & Treatment Services

- Assist in conducting client screenings and assessments under clinical supervision.
- Participate in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans.
- Facilitate psychoeducational groups, group counseling sessions, family conferences, and individual counseling sessions.
- Support clients through the recovery and transition process, including discharge planning and aftercare coordination.
- Respond appropriately to client crises and follow established agency protocols.

Documentation & Compliance

- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
- Complete treatment plans, plan updates, progress notes, transition plans, and discharge summaries in accordance with state and agency regulations.
- Ensure documentation is reviewed and countersigned by a Qualified Addiction Professional when required.
- Resolve charting and documentation deficiencies within established timelines.

Team Collaboration

- Participate in clinical staffing meetings and multidisciplinary treatment team discussions.
- Maintain positive working relationships with clients, referral sources, and colleagues.
- Adhere to ethical standards, agency policies, and professional best practices.
- Meet direct service and productivity expectations.

Professional Development

- Complete required annual training and continuing education in accordance with ASAM guidelines and agency requirements.
- Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional growth and clinical excellence.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Understanding of counseling, case management, and rehabilitation principles related to mental health and substance use treatment.
- Knowledge of behavioral health treatment approaches and recovery-oriented care.
- Ability to effectively facilitate individual and group interventions.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Commitment to ethical practice and person-centered care.

Qualifications

Illinois Requirements

- High School Diploma, GED, or Associate's Degree required.
- Must obtain a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) credential in accordance with Illinois Administrative Rule Part 2060 within two years of hire and maintain renewal requirements.
- Must meet state requirements for counselor registration, supervision, and professional development.

- Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance.
