Job Description
Turner & Townsend are seeking an experienced Signage & Wayfinding Coordinator to support the delivery of the resort-wide signage and wayfinding program for a major hospitality and entertainment development in Las Vegas.
The role will be responsible for coordinating signage and wayfinding from design development through procurement, fabrication, installation, punch list and project closeout. The successful candidate will act as a key point of coordination between the Client, design consultants, contractors, signage vendors and operational stakeholders to ensure that signage packages are coordinated, approved and delivered in accordance with the project design intent, schedule, budget and operational requirements.
The role will include coordination of interior, exterior, site, wayfinding, operational, regulatory and specialty signage across the project.
Design and Coordination Services
- Coordinate the development and implementation of the project-wide signage and wayfinding program.
- Coordinate signage design requirements with architectural, interior design, landscape, lighting, AV/technology and other relevant design disciplines.
- Coordinate sign location plans, message schedules, sign type schedules and other signage design documentation.
- Manage signage reviews and stakeholder approvals, including coordination with Owner representatives and operational stakeholders.
- Review signage packages for consistency with project standards, approved design intent and operational requirements.
- Identify signage scope gaps, overlaps and interface issues between design consultants, contractors and vendors.
- Coordinate signage requirements across public areas, back-of-house areas, exterior/site areas and other project spaces.
- Support coordination of code-required, life-safety and accessibility signage with the appropriate design and construction teams.
- Track design decisions, comments, approvals and outstanding information required to maintain progress.
- Participate in design coordination meetings and signage-specific workshops as required.
Procurement and Fabrication
- Support the development and coordination of signage procurement packages and scopes of work.
- Coordinate with procurement, commercial and project teams to track signage packages through award, fabrication and delivery.
- Review and coordinate signage shop drawings, product data, material samples, prototypes and mock-ups.
- Coordinate design consultant and Owner review of vendor submittals and track comments through to closure.
- Monitor fabrication progress and identify potential impacts to project milestones and installation dates.
- Coordinate long-lead signage items and required-on-site dates with the overall project schedule.
- Support evaluation and coordination of signage changes, scope adjustments and associated cost and schedule impacts.
- Maintain visibility of signage budget, commitments and changes in coordination with the project cost team.
Installation, Closeout and Handover
- Coordinate signage installation activities with contractors, vendors and the broader construction team.
- Monitor site readiness and installation sequencing to ensure signage installation is coordinated with surrounding construction activities and finishes.
- Conduct site walks and quality reviews to confirm installations align with approved locations, shop drawings, backing, and design intent.
- Identify and track signage deficiencies, installation issues and punch list items through resolution.
- Coordinate field changes or required signage modifications with the appropriate stakeholders.
- Track signage installation progress against the project schedule and escalate risks or delays as required.
- Coordinate final inspections, acceptance and turnover of completed signage packages.
- Support the collection and organization of signage closeout documentation, warranties, maintenance information and final record documentation.
- Coordinate handover of the completed signage and wayfinding program to the Owner and operational teams.
Project Controls and Reporting
- Maintain a comprehensive signage tracker identifying design status, approvals, procurement, fabrication, delivery, installation and closeout status.
- Maintain signage schedules, action logs, risk registers and decision logs as required.
- Track key signage milestones and dependencies against the overall project schedule.
- Prepare regular status updates highlighting progress, upcoming activities, outstanding decisions, risks and critical actions.
- Coordinate with project controls, cost, construction and document control teams to maintain accurate project records.
- Ensure signage correspondence, approvals, submittals and supporting documentation are appropriately recorded within the project document management system.
- SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience in signage, wayfinding, FF&E, design coordination, project management, construction management or a related discipline.
- Experience delivering signage and wayfinding programs on large-scale hospitality, gaming, entertainment, commercial or mixed-use developments preferred.
- Experience coordinating signage from design through fabrication, installation and closeout.
- Working knowledge of construction documentation, shop drawings, submittals and installation coordination.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary design and construction teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage a large volume of signage across multiple areas, packages and stakeholders.
- Takes ownership of responsibilities and proactively addresses priorities to ensure successful completion of objectives.
- Ability to effectively coordinate designers, contractors, vendors, consultants and Owner stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in relation to sign locations, messaging, finishes, dimensions and design requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, signage plans, schedules and shop drawings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to identify coordination issues, establish clear actions and drive items through to resolution.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within a fast-paced construction environment.
- Strong tracking and reporting skills with a disciplined approach to maintaining project records.
- Ability to work on site and participate in field walks, inspections and installation coordination.
Additional Information
The salary range for this role is $85,000 - $85,000. This range reflects the company's good faith estimate of the base salary for this position at the time of the posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, employees may be eligible for bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.
