Manhattan Children’s Center is a world-class educational and therapeutic facility for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Students ages 5 - 21 years and their families are supported through a transdisciplinary model. Due to the complex and challenging nature of ASD, our education and training model incorporates a one-to-one instructional approach facilitated by: ABA, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Skills Through Peer Instruction, and Family Training.

MCC is a partner in research and services with The Manhattan Behavioral Center, a growing clinical resource for families and people with autism and related disabilities.

Job Compensation

$40,500 Per Year

Your Impact Here at MCC

- Direct teaching of skills to students and data collection on responses
- Float through different classrooms based on the needs of the program
- Daily graphing and analysis of data for multiple students while monitoring learning trends
- Maintaining and promoting the generalization of learned skills
- Following students’ behavior intervention plans and reporting all observations of student behavior to the teacher
- Providing feedback and data to the teacher regarding social skills opportunities and parent concerns
- Preparing and organizing teaching materials and teaching settings daily
- Engage and use Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) holds/transport or disengagement tactics for students during behavioral episodes. This may mean physically intervening after being trained thoroughly, to help deescalate children when they become a danger to themselves or others.
- Completing other classroom duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher

Requirements

- High School Diploma: Associate degree preferred
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities
- Energetic, can-do attitude and a willingness to collaborate with teachers, related service providers, parents, and other faculty
