Radical Numerics is an AI research lab building general biological intelligence. Our mission is to master the code of life, and our purpose is to reduce human suffering.

Our team created Evo, and started the field of generative genomics . Our work was featured on the cover of Science , and presented by our CEO on the main stage of TED2025 . Evo was used to create the first AI gene therapy tool CRISPR-Cas9, and the first AI whole genome from scratch. Evo 2 , featured in Nature, is the largest fully open source AI project across any domain.

Radical Numerics is bringing the rigor of distributed systems, model architecture, and numerics research to the challenges of biology. We’ve redesigned the foundation model training stack to turn the world’s raw scientific data (e.g. biological sequences, experiments, and physical processes), into intelligible, generative models that can expand and accelerate what humanity can understand, design, and cure.

The same generative breakthroughs that enable life-saving cures also lowers the barrier to creating engineered threats and AI-generated bioweapons. We believe these forces are inseparable. Radical Numerics was founded to develop both the power to design and the responsibility to defend.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Business Associate to help our leadership team answer important business questions and turn the answers into action.

You will develop board and business-development presentations, build financial models, support company operations and compliance, and work on special projects across Radical Numerics. One week might involve preparing a board deck; another might involve evaluating whether we should partner with, invest in, or acquire part of a sequencing lab to secure access to patient data.

A core part of this role is being a “fixer”: someone who can take an ambiguous, high-priority problem, figure out what needs to happen, and drive it to completion. You might coordinate across internal teams and external partners, unblock a stalled project, stand up a new process, or step into an area where no clear owner exists yet. The problems will span many parts of the company and life sciences broadly, so you should be comfortable context switching, learning quickly, and doing whatever is required to move an important project forward.

This is an ideal role for a recent MBA (or ex-top consulting / investment banking) with a strong analytical foundation who wants broad exposure inside an ambitious early-stage company.
   
## What You’ll Do

- Develop board decks, operating reviews, decision memos, and other executive materials
- Create clear, compelling presentations for business development, partnerships, investors, and recruiting
- Build financial and operating models for budgets, hiring, infrastructure investments, partnerships, and new initiatives
- Research markets, companies, and strategic opportunities and develop practical recommendations
- Support evaluations of partnerships, investments, and acquisitions, including their economics, data rights, risks, and alternatives
- Help coordinate compliance, governance, insurance, contracting, and other operational work with internal owners and outside specialists
- Take on high-priority special projects and help drive them from initial analysis through execution
   
## Who You Are

- MBA completed or nearing completion
- Major plus for undergraduate degrees in computer science or life sciences
- Approximately two years of experience at a leading management consulting firm, investment bank, strategy team, or similarly rigorous analytical environment
- Strong financial modeling, research, and structured problem-solving skills
- An excellent writer and presentation builder who can turn complex information into a clear recommendation
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing several projects at once
- Curious, low ego, and excited to learn about AI, biology, and the business of building a frontier research company

Experience at McKinsey, Bain, BCG, or another leading consulting firm is especially valuable. Exposure to biotechnology, life sciences, AI, healthcare, corporate development, or startup operations is helpful but not required.
