RF Engineer - Wireless

## The Opportunity
Downer is seeking an experienced RF Engineer to join our Technology and Communications Services team. Reporting to the RF Manager, you will work within a multidisciplinary project team delivering RF site designs for the deployment of 4G and 5G technologies across new and existing telecommunications infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for developing RF site designs, ensuring compliance with EME and ACMA requirements, supporting field activities during construction and as built phases, and contributing to the successful delivery of wireless network projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing RF site designs including RF plumbing diagrams for 4G and 5G deployments.
- Ensuring all designs comply with EME, ACMA and client requirements.
- Coordinating with project managers, designers, engineers and field teams to deliver projects safely, on time and to specification.
- Undertaking site inspections, design visits, audits and feasibility assessments.
- Supporting commissioning, integration and performance troubleshooting activities.
- Monitoring project progress and providing timely reporting to stakeholders.
- Driving quality outcomes and supporting a culture of Zero Harm.

## What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of three years' experience in Australian radio network design environments.
- Strong expertise in RF design, RF plumbing diagrams and EME mitigation solutions.
- Extensive knowledge of ARPANSA RPS3 standards, AMTA Base Station Design Guidelines and ACMA requirements.
- Experience using industry tools such as Atoll, Asset, RFNSA, RF Map2, Nearmap, MapInfo and Google Earth.
- Knowledge of Ericsson, Nokia or Huawei RAN environments and performance management tools.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across cross functional teams.

The following will be highly regarded:
- Knowledge of LTE and 5G radio network optimisation techniques.
- Experience with private LTE networks, rail communications, mining, defence, IoT or smart metering environments.
- Programming or scripting experience using tools such as Python, VBA or SQL.
