Application Program Lead, Enterprise AI

At Lam Research , the LIDAS (Lam India Data Analytics & Sciences) team partners with Global Operations to solve complex business challenges through advanced analytics, enterprise applications, automation, and AI-driven solutions. In this role, you will directly contribute to transforming business processes by designing and delivering scalable, intelligent applications that improve operational efficiency, accelerate decision-making, and support Lam's growth across semiconductor manufacturing and supply chain operations.
## The impact you’ll make

As a Software Application Engineer at Lam, you’ll be at the forefront of driving innovation and adoption of our software products. You’ll support fast product evolution through agile processes by analyzing, designing, programming, testing, debugging, and enhancing software applications. With your expertise and initiative, you’ll turn ideas into great products that support advancements in Lam’s semiconductor technology.

In this role, you will have a significant impact on the innovation and efficiency of Lam's products and services. By developing enterprise grade software applications, you will enable data-driven decision making, optimize workflows, enhance user experience, and improve quality and performance of Lam's hardware and processes.

What you’ll do

*Design and architect end-to-end enterprise application solutions integrating AI capabilities, enterprise systems, automation platforms, and diverse data sources including SQL Server, Lakehouse, Data Lake, and cloud platforms.
*Partner with business stakeholders to understand challenges, identify opportunities, and translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
*Define application architecture, system components, integrations, APIs, data flows, and technology frameworks to ensure performance, security, maintainability, and scalability. *Lead proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives to evaluate emerging technologies and validate solutions for complex business problems.
*Provide technical guidance to development teams, conduct design reviews, and promote engineering best practices, coding standards, and architecture governance.
*Drive the adoption of modern technologies including Generative AI, Copilot, OpenAI/GPT-based solutions, automation platforms, and cloud-native architectures.
*Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to deliver applications using Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software engineering principles.
*Communicate technical decisions, solution trade-offs, and implementation roadmaps to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
## Who we’re looking for

- *Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
*8+ years of experience in enterprise software application development, architecture, or solution delivery.
*4+ years of experience leading large-scale application development programs or enterprise solution initiatives.
*Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise applications on Azure, AWS, or GCP cloud platforms.
*Strong hands-on expertise in one or more technologies such as .NET, Angular, Python, or similar enterprise application frameworks.
*Experience integrating applications, APIs, automation solutions, and enterprise data platforms.
*Strong stakeholder management, communication, and technical documentation skills.

Preferred qualifications

- *Experience designing and implementing AI-enabled solutions leveraging Generative AI, OpenAI, GPT technologies, or enterprise AI platforms.
*Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Lakehouse architectures, Data Lakes, and modern analytics ecosystems.
*Experience with DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, Git, and Jira.
*Exposure to Microsoft Power Platform, RPA platforms, or intelligent automation solutions.
*Experience supporting semiconductor, manufacturing, supply chain, operations, or quality business functions.
*Understanding of enterprise integration patterns, security frameworks, OAuth, REST APIs, JSON, and modern architecture design principles

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
