Job Description:

Job Summary**

Altera Semiconductor Technology (M) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Product Development Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and validation of cutting-edge semiconductor products. This role involves working across the product lifecycle, from initial concept to mass production, ensuring high-quality and reliable solutions.

Job Responsibilities**

* Collaborate with design, DFT (Design for Test), and test engineering teams to define product test requirements and strategies.
* Develop and debug test programs for new silicon, including characterization, validation, and production testing.
* Analyze silicon performance data, identify root causes of failures, and propose solutions for design, process, or test improvements.
* Design and develop test hardware, including load boards and probe cards.
* Perform product characterization across various operating conditions (voltage, temperature, frequency).
* Drive yield improvement activities and reduce test costs throughout the product lifecycle.
* Support failure analysis and debug of customer returns.
* Generate technical documentation, including test plans, reports, and procedures.
* Participate in cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues and drive product maturity.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in semiconductor product development, test engineering, or characterization.
* Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics and digital/analog circuit design.
* Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or Perl.
* Experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) platforms (e.g., Teradyne, Advantest).
* Familiarity with statistical data analysis tools (e.g., JMP, Exensio).
* Knowledge of DFT methodologies (e.g., JTAG, scan, MBIST).
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
