Manufacturing & Quality Technical Hub, Hyderabad

Lilly's Hyderabad hub is a first-of-its-kind technical center built to lead the manufacturing and quality science agenda for Lilly's global supply network, and the work done here reaches patients in more than 110 countries.

This hub oversees contract manufacturing of starting materials and intermediates for API manufacturing in India, managing the full scientific agenda for manufacturing and quality. We're building a cutting-edge scientific organization and looking for top talent in process engineering, chemistry, analytical and data sciences to be part of it.

The ETC is a technical resource for training, standards, project implementation, and the center of engineering excellence for the corporation, providing deeply technical resources to solve the most intractable technical problems in manufacturing. ETC is expanding into the India Technical Hub to add roles that can support work globally.

Key Objectives/Deliverables

- Establishes the Engineering Requirements for the mechanical and unit operation systems of capital projects.

- Perform evaluations and design guidance on mechanical systems that include HVAC systems, utility systems (air, steam, water, glycol, etc.).

- Review engineering and design work by contractors and the submittals from suppliers and contractors against the engineering requirements including Lilly Global Quality Standards, Global Engineering Standards, and Engineering Master Specifications.

Basic Qualifications

- BS in Engineering (Mechanical strongly preferred) typically found in pharmaceutical manufacturing

- Demonstrated knowledge of ISO-14644-1 principles and interpretations

- Knowledge of key ASHRAE standards and how to apply those in an industrial setting

- Knowledge of ISPE guidelines regarding cleanroom deign and operation

- Demonstrated knowledge of HEPA filtration and the specifications/use cases of HEPA’s

- Demonstrated knowledge of air handling unit design and key operational principles for a wide range of applications

- Knowledge of refrigeration cycles, technologies, and applications

- Minimum of 10 years manufacturing and/or engineering in support of pharmaceutical manufacturing.

- Demonstrated understanding of the design processes employed by engineering and architectural firms.

- Must possess strong business acumen, with an awareness of the life cycle cost evaluation processes as they apply to equipment and systems.

- Must be able to frame complex decisions/analyses.

- Must have demonstrated good written and verbal communications skills.

- Must have project management experience - the ability to lead groups including internal and external resources to provide study content.

- Proven flexibility in adapting and adjusting to changes in working practices and a willingness to take on different roles as required by the needs of the Engineering Tech Center.
