Junior Field Operations Coordinator (SCE-SSC-SC-2026-232-GRAE)

Job Description

You will support day-to-day logistics operations, coordinate activities and projects in the field with various stakeholders, and follow up on continuous improvement initiatives related to services and infrastructures. As part of the Logistics Operations team, you will combine administrative tasks with practical follow-up in the field, supporting a wide range of logistics services for the CERN community, including Goods Reception and Expedition, Internal Delivery, Stores, Storage and Mail Services.

Your responsibilities

- Support day-to-day logistics operations, including inventory management and process optimisation.
- Coordinate operations-related projects and activities in the field with various stakeholders and contractors, and follow up on agreed actions.
- Follow up on logistics infrastructure-related tasks and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to services and infrastructures.
- Support the collection of supply chain operational data, reporting and KPI monitoring.

Your profile

- First experience in Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain or a related field, supporting day-to-day operational activities.
- First exposure to inventory management, process optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong interest in combining administrative tasks with practical follow-up of operational activities in the field.

Skills

- Knowledge of logistics, warehouse or inventory management processes, with an interest in continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Good organisational skills and ability to follow up on operational tasks and coordinate activities with different stakeholders.
- Good knowledge of MS Office tools, with strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills.
- Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the other language.

Eligibility criteria:

- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State (https://home.cern/about/member-states).
- By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Bachelor/Master of Supply Chain (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree .
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
- Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
- Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.

Additional Information

Job closing date: 19.10.2026 at 23:59 CEST.

Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.

Working hours: 40 hours per week

Job flexibility: Hybrid

Target start date: 01-January-2027
