Cash Application - Accountant/Jr Accountant

We are seeking Cash Applications Junior Accountant/Accountant for the Global Centre GSS Finance based in Pune, India.
The Accounts Receivable team will report to the Team Leader. The Accounts Receivable Junior Accountant is a member of a team of accountants, overseeing all accounts receivable duties of a given geographical region.

To succeed in this role, you are a team player with the ability to create an atmosphere of motivation and enthusiasm to be part of building up the Global Centre. You will play a key role in service implementation of the accounts receivable processes.

Key Tasks

- Downloading of bank statements, remittances daily

- Ensuring that the cash is applied on time with accuracy/billing and invoicing done accurately/ensuring the manual payments are processed on time and accurately

- Researches on unapplied, unidentified and duplicate payments in a timely manner to ensure customer accounts are current

- Weekly review of all the on-account items and ensuring that there is a follow – up for closure and report out any anomalies

Position Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
- 0-3 years of experience and ability to perform in a high-volume environment, adequate knowledge on other areas like billing/invoicing/bank reconciliations/ collections would be an added advantage
- Candidate should be flexible with shifts to support various geographies as per business requirement
- Demonstrated experience with general ledger account reconciliations including month end closing processes and general knowledge of accounting principles
- Knowledge of Oracle preferred
- Previous experience with a Professional Services Company preferred
- Candidate should be flexible with shifts to support various geographies as per business requirement
- Excellent English skills required, written and verbal Additional European language skills will be advantageous
