Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced AI Engineer to support the development and implementation of AI solutions within a leading global insurance company. The role will focus on designing, developing, integrating, and productionizing AI/ML and Generative AI solutions within a Microsoft Azure and Databricks-based data environment. The successful candidate will work closely with business, data, and technology teams to translate business use cases into practical and scalable AI solutions. The ideal candidate has strong Python and AI engineering skills, practical experience with Azure and Databricks, and hands-on exposure to modern Generative AI, LLM, and AI agent technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement AI/ML and Generative AI solutions using Azure and Databricks
- Work with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements and translate business problems into practical AI solutions
- Develop, test, and integrate AI models and AI-powered services and applications
- Build AI solutions leveraging enterprise data available through the Databricks platform
- Develop and integrate LLM-based and AI agent solutions where appropriate
- Collaborate with Data Engineers to identify, prepare, and consume appropriate datasets for AI workloads
- Design and implement approaches for evaluating the quality, accuracy, reliability, and performance of AI solutions
- Support the integration of AI capabilities with existing enterprise applications and platforms
- Support deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of AI solutions
- Maintain appropriate technical documentation covering solution design, models, prompts, integrations, and dependencies
- Follow enterprise standards relating to development, security, governance, and responsible use of AI
Required Skills & Experience
- At least 4 years of experience in AI/ML Engineering, Machine Learning Engineering, Data Science with strong engineering responsibilities, or similar roles
- Strong hands-on development experience with Python
- Practical experience developing and implementing AI/ML solutions
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models, or similar modern AI technologies
- Experience working with Microsoft Azure and cloud-based AI/data environments
- Practical experience with Databricks
- Experience integrating AI models or AI services into enterprise applications and workflows
- Good understanding of APIs, data pipelines, and software engineering principles
- Understanding of AI/ML model evaluation, testing, monitoring, and production deployment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Databricks Genie
- Experience developing AI agents, RAG solutions, or LLM-based enterprise applications
- Experience with Azure AI capabilities and the wider Azure AI ecosystem
- Experience with prompt engineering, LLM evaluation, and AI solution optimization
- Experience working with enterprise data platforms and large datasets
- Experience within insurance, financial services, or another regulated industry
- Understanding of AI governance, security, privacy, and responsible AI considerations
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments
