Senior Vice President, Credit Solutions

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Vice President, Credit Solutions

In this role you will:

- Lead the origination, structuring and underwriting of venture and growth debt transactions for HSBC Innovation Banking clients across Greater China, deal-captaining term negotiations, transaction due diligence and the end-to-end risk approval process through to close.

- Develop and strengthen strategic relationships with founders and institutional investors across the regional ecosystem. Maintain a strong understanding of market, sector and competitive trends; turn insights into action - shaping origination and portfolio strategy and driving innovation in our credit solutions.

- Own ongoing portfolio performance for completed transactions - leading post-close monitoring and reporting, ensuring adherence to applicable risk and operational standards and policies, and driving timely remediation and escalation of issues and covenant/policy breaches in line with operating procedures.

- Collaborate with HSBC Innovation Banking and other CIB relationship management teams, HSBC Private Bank, and HSBC Asset Management to deliver holistic client solutions.

- Provide oversight and guidance to junior team members, supporting skills development and career progression.

To be successful you will need:

- 8+ years of experience in venture lending, leveraged finance, investment banking, venture capital/private equity, in-house corporate development, or similar roles.

- Strong corporate finance technical foundation with a proven deal track record across debt and/or equity transactions.

- Demonstrated sector expertise in Greater China Technology or Healthcare. Experience working with institutionally backed venture- and growth-stage companies is preferred.

- Strong interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills. People management experience is strongly preferred, with the ability to coach and develop junior team members.

- Excellent spoken and written English and Mandarin; Cantonese is an advantage.

- Familiarity with LMA/APLMA legal documentation is an advantage, but not required.
