About Us

Scissero is an AI-enhanced legal services company built for financial institutions. We combine expert legal support with intelligent automation, transforming how transactional law is delivered.

We’re not a traditional law firm. We are a diverse and globally distributed team of lawyers, engineers, and innovators working across the U.S, EMEA, and APAC. We believe technology augments, not replaces legal expertise. Our culture values collaboration, inclusivity, and flexibility.

Position Overview

As Head of Legal Operations for the UK, you will be the Global Head of Legal Operations’ right hand in the region – owning how the global operating model runs on the ground in the UK. Working as a local extension of that role, you will translate global standards, priorities, and decisions into operational reality for the UK, and feed local insight, risk, and performance data back up so the Global Head has full visibility and can make better global decisions.

You will own workload and capacity planning, SLA and quality performance tracking, resourcing, vendor and technology adoption, and playbook and template implementation within the UK, always in line with the global framework set by the Global Head of Legal Operations. You will partner with local Sales and Account Management, escalate risk and capacity constraints early, and act as the Global Head’s trusted regional partner – someone they can hand any part of the operating model to and know it will be run to the same standard as everywhere else.

You will lead adoption of our proprietary AI-enabled platform within the UK, driving operational efficiency across document review, deviation identification, and playbook application, and you will own the local data and reporting that feeds into the global reporting suite.

You will also manage hiring, resourcing, and performance for the UK legal operations team, and embed Scissero’s values - Curiosity, Excellence, Client-Centered, Global Collaboration, Ownership, Innovation, and Agility - in how the function operates day to day in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

Operating Model & Delivery

- Own execution of the global operating model – processes, systems, and workflows – acting as the Global Head’s primary point of accountability and delivery in the UK.

- Own workload, capacity, and resourcing planning for the UK, ensuring the team can meet demand and scale to support new and growing accounts.

- Track and report SLA performance, quality metrics, turnaround times, and delivery cost for the UK, escalating operational risk to the Global Head of Legal Operations before it affects clients or revenue.

- Implement and maintain global playbooks, templates, precedents, and workflows within the UK.

- Identify and lead UK process improvement, automation, and scalability initiatives, escalating those with global relevance to the Global Head of Legal Operations for wider rollout.

- Manage local use of the legal technology stack and vendor relationships, in coordination with the Global Head of Legal Operations and the central technology roadmap.

Hiring

- Open new roles within the UK where required, and draft and finalise job specs for approval.

- Keep close oversight on all open roles and liaise with the Talent team to ensure roles progress effectively, including chasing for updates where needed, and attend the weekly recruitment meeting.

- Oversee the creation and marking of technical exercises, and ensure interviewers within the jurisdiction receive interview training.

Performance & Team Management

- Manage the UK legal operations team, setting clear priorities, standards, and accountability, and ensuring consistent, high-quality management across the team.

- Communicate relevant updates to the team clearly to ensure maximum clarity and transparency (e.g. hiring, training and development, projects, product, and team changes).

- Review and approve PIPs, and maintain clear performance frameworks.

- Deal with escalations from managers on performance and people queries, looping in HR / Global Head of Legal Operations where necessary.

- Monitor team efficiency and capacity, escalating where necessary.

Training & Development

- Own the training and development strategy for the UK team, aligned with the global standards set by the Global Head of Legal Operations.

- Oversee Principal Legal Leads (PLLs) to ensure effective training and upskilling within Pods.

- Identify skills gaps and training needs across the UK team, and design or source programmes to address them, including technical legal training and AI/platform upskilling.

- Ensure new joiners are onboarded effectively and reach full productivity quickly.

- Support career development and progression, working with managers on development plans and succession planning.

- Promote a culture of continuous learning and knowledge-sharing across the jurisdiction.

Account Management

- Own customer health and upsells for relevant customers, acting as a trusted point of contact, handling renewals, dealing with escalations, and ensuring a high standard of service.

- Confirm how new customers are allocated within the jurisdiction, based on live capacity modelling and understanding of team capabilities, including nominating Legal Leads (LLs).

- Liaise with Sales and Global Head of Legal Operations to align legal delivery capacity in the UK with commercial growth plans.

Legal Technology & AI Integration

- Drive UK adoption of Scissero’s proprietary AI-enabled platform, in line with the global roadmap owned by the Global Head of Legal Operations.

- Monitor how the UK team uses AI tools, ensuring consistency, quality control, and full use of platform capability.

- Feed local operational experience and frontline data back to the Global Head of Legal Operations and the wider Product and Engineering feedback loop.

- Maintain regional oversight of technology-assisted legal output, quality, and performance metrics.

- Support the rollout of process and workflow changes within the UK as new AI capability becomes available.
