Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Communications professional to manage communications for our Wholesale Banking and Global Markets businesses.

This role is responsible for shaping and executing integrated communications strategies that strengthen the bank's reputation, support business objectives, and position the organisation as a trusted partner to corporate, institutional and investor clients.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior business leaders across Wholesale Banking, Corporate Banking, Transaction Banking, Treasury, Global Markets, Investment Banking and related functions to develop compelling narratives around market developments, client solutions, industry trends and the bank's strategic priorities.

Strategic Communications & Positioning

- Develop and execute strategic communications programmes that support Wholesale Banking and Global Markets business objectives.
- Craft clear and compelling narratives that enhance the bank's thought leadership and market position.
- Advise senior executives on communications strategy, stakeholder engagement and reputation management.
- Translate complex financial, economic and market developments into impactful content for external and internal audiences.

Media Relations

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with financial, business and trade media.
- Identify proactive opportunities to position senior executives as industry thought leaders.
- Manage media enquiries and interview opportunities related to wholesale banking, treasury, capital markets and economic developments.
- Prepare media materials including press releases, media pitches, briefing notes, Q&As and spokesperson talking points.

Executive Communications

- Develop speeches, keynote addresses, opinion articles, LinkedIn content and executive messaging for senior leaders.
- Support executive participation in conferences, industry forums, client events and media interviews.
- Ensure messaging consistency across markets and business units.

Internal Communications

- Support internal communications initiatives that strengthen employee engagement and understanding of business priorities.
- Communicate key business achievements, transactions, client successes and strategic milestones.
- Partner with HR and leadership teams on change management and transformation communications where required.

Issues & Reputation Management

- Support crisis communications planning and issues management.
- Develop response strategies and stakeholder communications for sensitive business issues.
- Monitor emerging risks and reputational challenges affecting the bank and the financial services sector.

Stakeholder Management

- Build trusted relationships with senior business leaders, product teams, economists, research analysts and regional communications colleagues.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing, Investor Relations, Sustainability, Government Affairs and Compliance teams.
- Coordinate communications activities across multiple markets to ensure strategic alignment.
