Product Security Apprentice Engineer – Post-Market Surveillance & Security Testing

Location: Bangalore (or applicable location)

Duration: 12 Months (Apprenticeship Program)

This role supports Alcon Product Security's AGS organization with a focus on post-market cybersecurity activities, end-to-end security testing, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and automation of security processes for medical devices and digital health products.

The apprentice will work with Product Security engineers to assess cybersecurity risks, automate testing activities, support vulnerability management, and help improve security monitoring and compliance activities across the product lifecycle.

The role is ideal for candidates interested in cybersecurity engineering, software automation, testing, and medical device security.

Key Responsibilities:

· Primary Responsibilities (70%) Post-Market Product Security Support cybersecurity surveillance activities for in-market medical devices and digital products.

· Assist with vulnerability monitoring, triage, risk analysis, and remediation tracking.

· Support SBOM/CBOM reviews and vulnerability correlation activities.

· Assist in analysis of security findings, customer-reported issues, and cybersecurity trends.

· Contribute to cybersecurity documentation and compliance artifacts.

· End-to-end Security Testing Support execution across software, hardware, cloud, and connected device ecosystems.

· Develop and execute security test cases. Participate in verification and validation activities.

· Support penetration testing activities for medical devices and applications. Assist with SAST, DAST, SCA, SBOM, and vulnerability scanning activities.

· Help document findings and remediation recommendations. Security Automation & Tool Development, Build and maintain Python-based automation scripts.

· Develop automation for security testing, vulnerability analysis, CBOM generation, and reporting.

· Create dashboards, reports, and workflow automation solutions. Support AI-assisted automation initiatives within Product Security.

· Integrate security tools into DevSecOps pipelines.
