Engineering Manager Norfolk Vanguard

In this role, you will provide strategic leadership and technical oversight for the engineering, maintenance and asset integrity activities of Norfolk Vanguard Offshore Wind Farm and its associated onshore infrastructure. Working as part of the site leadership team, you will help ensure safe, reliable and cost-effective asset performance while creating long-term value through engineering excellence and continuous improvement.

About the role

- Provide strategic leadership for engineering and maintenance activities across the offshore and onshore operational assets.

- Develop and implement the site engineering strategy in line with business objectives, lifecycle requirements and operational performance targets.

- Own the asset integrity programme covering turbines, foundations, electrical systems, offshore substations and balance of plant.

- Drive improvements in reliability, availability and energy production, including root cause analysis of significant technical issues.

- Lead engineering projects, plant modifications and technical upgrades from concept to execution, ensuring safe, timely and cost-effective delivery.

- Manage key engineering and maintenance contracts, contractor performance, procurement support, warranty claims, budgets and CAPEX planning.

- Ensure compliance with relevant UK legislation, industry standards, company policies and technical governance processes.

- Lead and develop the engineering team while acting as the primary technical interface for internal teams, suppliers, contractors, regulatory bodies and joint venture partners.

Job requirements and experience

- A completed degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Marine or Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

- Chartered Engineer status or active progress towards professional registration with a recognised engineering institution.

- Significant engineering leadership experience in offshore wind, power generation, marine, utilities or another asset-intensive industry.

- Demonstrable experience managing engineering and maintenance functions for large-scale operational assets.

- Strong knowledge of asset integrity management, reliability engineering and lifecycle planning.

- Experience managing engineering contracts, technical suppliers, major service providers, budgets and CAPEX plans.

- Knowledge of UK offshore safety legislation and relevant industry standards.

- Experience with SAP, a computerised maintenance management system or an equivalent maintenance management system, combined with strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Advantageous, but not essential

- Experience supporting offshore transmission assets and high-voltage electrical systems.

- Knowledge of offshore wind turbine technologies and balance of plant systems.

- A project management qualification such as APM, PRINCE2 or an equivalent.

- A NEBOSH or IOSH qualification.

- Experience working within joint venture environments.

- A valid offshore medical and survival certification.
