Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
- Understand the requirements (Scope of Work and SLAs) from various user departments relating to Packaging ( Corrugation, Steel, Polymer, wood, returnable) across all the plants of AFS ( Auto - Farm Sector), Spare Parts and Allied Business
Understanding the requirements (Scope of Work) from various user departments
- Decide the vendor panel and Float RFQs wherever necessary
- Receive and Analyse quotes and Decide Target Price
- Conduct Negotiations and Achieve Target Price as jointly decided by senior management
- Domain knowledge on Packaging commodities and purchasing processes.
- Should be costing and negotiations for packaging cost settlement.
- Commercial contract settlement for Packaging activities:-
1) Supplier assessment & Price settlement for packaging commodities like corrugation, polybags, VCI, Pine wood, rubber wood, Steel crates/ Skids, returnable packaging, etc
2)Should be costing and negotiations for packaging cost settlement. Identify competent supplier base and develop along with user.
Market intelligence and forecasting of Raw material prices - Commodity price trend tracking and benchmarking.
3) Differential Sourcing Strategy - Benchmarking of Technology and Prices in Industry, innovative packaging solutions, adapting best practices in other industries.
- Value Engineering / Cost Reductions - Ability to generate new ideas of bringing Material cost either by selection of material, alternate Source or by optimization of design / process cost.
- Packaging Commodity Wise Vendor Panneling and Decide Procurement and supply strategy.
Experience
5-7 years experience in packaging development / procurement preferred. Experience in Automobile, FMCG, E-Commerce packaging preferred.
Industry Preferred
Qualifications
Any graduate with specialisation in Packaging or Post Graduate Diploma in Packaging (PGDP) from IIP preferred.
General Requirements
1) Effective written and spoken communication
2) Understanding Costing, Should be costing, Cost drivers and levers
3) Ability to Negotiate with large and reputed agencies and close deals
4) Experience of MS office tools
