Senior Manager - Area Financial Controller

About the role

The Area Financial Controller is responsible for consolidating and analysing financial results, providing key highlights to the Cluster/Area Head Finance and Finance team to support the regional strategy for a specific Cluster/Area of Markets part of a wider Region within GSK. The role also works and interacts very closely with the Finance Directors and Finance teams of the respective Markets part of the Cluster/Area based in the local markets as well as the Controllership and Planning & Forecasting teams based in the Hub.

The role requires high-quality standards delivering right first-time reporting and analysis which are insightful and supports the business to develop accurate plans while keeping a strong control environment.

Given the nature of the role and coverage within the region time zone, a high level of flexibility and adjustment is required to fulfil the requirements of a such critical role.

Role & Responsibilities

·  Consolidating and reviewing accuracy of monthly / quarterly / annual financial results, assessing alignment to the overall financial plan as well as working with the Market to understand local dynamics.

· Provide continuous support to the Head of Finance and Regional Finance Team in consolidating and analysing the financial performance of the Markets / Area - Cluster.

·  Producing and presenting consolidated financial results for the Market / Area - Cluster based on requirements received from the Corporate finance team.

·  Participating & contributing into Market / Area / Regional business reviews meetings as appropriate;

· Managing Market / Area – Cluster Operating Expenditure and all reporting requirements (including OE & Headcount Reporting);

· Quarterly SOX requirements including Judgement Reporting, Intangible impairments, Legal provisions and Significant contracts.

· Ensure entities results are fully compliant with all relevant accounting standards, current best practice, and any other regulation / finance manual;

· Execute control activities that operate in line with global processes and incorporate best practices in terms of financial controls;

· Partnering with Internal and External auditors where required;

· Delivers insights to the Area / Region / Segment in key areas of risks, growth and performance by making recommendations for continuous improvements and remediating actions as required;

· Drive projects at Controllership, Area/Cluster, Regional and Global level as appropriate;

· Actively engage and interface with the wider One Finance team (Controllership, Planning and Forecasting, Finance Business Partners, Tax, Supply Chain, Corporate etc.);

Requirements

•    Accounting degree and/or qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
•   10-15 yrs of experience in Finance Controlling, Planning and Forecasting and Finance Partnering previous experience
•    Experience of working with SOX requirements.  
•    Very familiar in working with systems such as SAP / S4Hana, Bison, Vista, Power BI, Lumira.
•    Excellent communication and organization skills. Able to manage and present to senior stakeholders at different levels.
•    High level of analytical skills and translating them in an output to support the Finance team.
•    Outside of the box thinking and pro-active problem-solving skills

•    Fluent in English

•    Ability to connect and effectively communicate and partner with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation

•    Ability to identify and resolve issues, demonstrate problem‑solving capabilities and strong commercial acumen.

•    Ability to work effectively in a remote, multicultural and global environment supporting multiple countries / entities globally

•    Previous experience of working with SAP/S4Hana, Lumira, Power BI, Agentic AI is an advantage

•    Attention to detail, good analytical and presentation skillsets.

•    Excellent in challenging the status quo of reporting requirements and driving Digital developments.

•    Fluency in English is a requirement.
