Reach Truck Driver - IS

ACCOUNTABILITIES :

On shift basis, monitor and control all pallets of stock transferring between the Coldstore/Ambient sites and despatch areas.

Ensure all pallets received into the warehouse are sited safely and correctly to Company Procedures.

Ensure that all pallet standards are acceptable into the warehouse – identifying any concerns to your line manager.

Understand your depot KPI’s for the task you are completing and aim to achieve in a safe manner.

To ensure that all pallets are sited/re-sited or despatched correctly and that any part pallet picks from the warehouse are accounted for correctly and pallets returned to the warehouse sites.

Reporting to your Line Manager all visual hazards such as damaged cartons and possible dangerous working conditions such as tipped pallet in the warehouse and follow the company procedures.

Support and assist the loading bay staff to ensure all stock being prepared for loading or to be located is wrapped and stacked correctly and that all stock is in good visual order as stated in the company procedures.

Monitor your own Material Handling Equipment (MHE) performance, following the training received for the Company process for pre-shift check.  Ensure all defects and damage are reported to your line manager, you are to follow all processes and procedures when using Material Handling Equipment (MHE) effectively

Manage the standard of your work area and follow the Company policies to ensure you are working in a clean and safe environment (clean as you go)

Health and Safety

You as an employee are responsible for Health and Safety to protect you and your colleagues.

Before commencing any work, you must assess the job/area or trailer you are working in and report any risks or hazards to your Line Manager to re-assess.

It is your own responsibility to maintain your working area to be safe, clean and free from hazard.  Any issues are to be reported to your immediate Line Manager.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES :

Completion of the Key functions, intake, loading, vehicle turnaround times, replenishment, cleaning, targets etc. (include KPI)

Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of your working areas which includes the work stations, the loading bay, conveyors, trailers, Material Handling Equipment (MHE), office, loading docks etc.

COMMON RESPONSIBILITIES

.         Reach Truck Drivers must follow all training guidelines when working in a Company Warehouse – for example - the use of horns and direction of travel.

.         Ensure all pre-shift checks are completed before you commence work and follow the reporting process for any defects.

.         Report any defects to your Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to your Line Manager.

.         Report any damage and defects found on the racking to your Line Manager.

.         Monitor the battery water levels and fill when necessary – ensure we follow the Material Handling Equipment Providers (MHE) Guide Lines.

.         Ensure all pallets received or despatched to / from the warehouse are of a quality in line with the Company procedure.

.         Always move Pallets using the radio data terminals (RDT) and report any anomalies to your Line Manager.

.         Follow the procedure at all times on your radio data terminal (RDT) for despatching part picked pallets.

.         Report all spillages immediately.

.         Manage your breaks with your colleagues and report to your Line Manager when you leave and return from your set breaks.

.         Warehouse awareness for pedestrians must be adhered to at all times.

.         Communicate with colleagues in the same area to remove any hazard or risk.

.         Site pallets at the correct height at all times, heavy weighted pallets to only be located at the lower level racks- Do not exceeded the MHE lifting capacity.

.         Complete any stock checks, Rack Check (empty or occupied reports) issued by your Line Manager to the Company Procedure and return within a timely manner.

.         Report any Site discrepancies, Dummy or Doubles to your Line Manager that you identify during your working day.
