YOUR MISSION
- Responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of PUMA Footwear testing standards, methods, protocols, and laboratory management practices. The role ensures the consistency, accuracy, and reliability of product testing activities across supplier laboratories through laboratory capability assessments, technical support, benchmarking, and validation programs. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external laboratories, the position contributes to maintaining product quality, performance, and compliance with regulatory and PUMA requirements while driving laboratory capability enhancement and testing excellence
- Test Methods, Standards and Protocol Implementation: Support the implementation, maintenance, and periodic review of PUMA Footwear testing methods, standards, protocols, and product performance requirements. Assist in the development and updating of testing manuals, SOPs, guidelines, and laboratory procedures. Coordinate test trials, validation studies, and benchmarking activities to support continuous improvement of testing methodologies. Support regulatory monitoring activities and ensure testing requirements remain aligned with applicable regulations and internal standards. Assist in executing correlation studies and laboratory comparison programs to improve testing accuracy, consistency, and reliability. Collect and analyze test data and recommend improvements where necessary. Support the rollout of new testing requirements and performance standards across supplier laboratories
- T1 Supplier Laboratory Capability Assessment and Development: Conduct routine laboratory assessments at Tier 1 supplier laboratories. Monitor laboratory compliance with PUMA testing requirements, procedures, and competency expectations. Review laboratory equipment maintenance, calibration, verification, and testing practices and update/create relevant guidelines. Support laboratory accreditation readiness activities and capability improvement programs. Maintain laboratory assessment records, scorecards, KPI tracking, and capability databases. Identify laboratory capability gaps and support implementation of corrective and improvement actions. Follow up on laboratory improvement plans and verify effective closure of identified gaps
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Support Innovation, Materials, Product Development, Manufacturing Operations, and Quality Assurance teams on testing-related activities and projects. Provide technical support during product investigations, product performance evaluations, and root cause analysis activities. Coordinate testing-related communication between PUMA teams and supplier laboratories
- Training and Technical Support: Assist in developing and delivering training materials related to testing methodologies, standards, protocols, and laboratory best practices. Conduct laboratory competency training sessions for supplier laboratory personnel when required. Provide day-to-day technical guidance to suppliers regarding testing requirements and methodologies.
YOUR TALENT
- Bachelor’s degree in Footwear Materials Science, Chemistry, Quality Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in footwear product testing and laboratory management, including hands-on physical and mechanical testing of materials and finished products
- Knowledge of laboratory operations, quality systems, supplier laboratory assessments, and root cause analysis
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, data analysis, and BI reporting
- Excellent communication skills in English and Vietnamese. Chinese is a plus
- Detail-oriented and organized, with strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach to continuous improvement
