Companion/Caregiver

This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible.

Are you studying in the medical field and looking to gain valuable hands-on experience working 1:1 in a fun family home?
We're seeking a compassionate and dependable Companion Caregiver to support a fun, friendly young woman in her home and community. This is a great opportunity for college students and young providers who are interested in gaining valuable experience working with individuals with disabilities.
She enjoys reading, watching movies, creating art projects, spending time at the Donna Lexa Art Center, and going on short community outings and walks. Her family is welcoming, fun, and committed to helping caregivers succeed through hands-on training and support.
No medical experience is required. The family is happy to train the right person who is reliable, patient, and eager to learn. Location : Waukesha, WI (In Client Home + Community Outings) Compensation : $18.00/hour Availability Needed : 10-24Hr/Week - Flexible Schedule Open to late mornings, afternoons and evening shifts *NO overnights required! Mostly weekdays - One or two Sunday mornings/Month Schedule built on mutual availability with the family Companionship Responsibilities • Build a positive relationship and provide consistent companionship • Read books, watch movies, and participate in fun activities • Attend community outings, including visits to the Donna Lexa Art Center • Accompany the family for recreational activities • Support engagement, socialization and participate in daily routines
Caregiving Support Applicants should be comfortable assisting with personal care duties as needed. Personal care support is not required during every shift but may include: • Assistance with dressing and grooming • Toileting and bathing as necessary • Gentle repositioning for comfort and safety • Hoyer lift transfers • G-tube feedings and medication administration • ***All training supported directly by family***
Requirements • Valid Driver's License • Reliable transportation • Ability to pass a caregiver and criminal background check • Dependable, fun and willing to learn • Comfortable with learning about and providing personal care assistance when needed Why Choose This Position?
