We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of  Assistant Vice President Operations

In this role, you will:

- Strategic execution, Sub-Value Streams  alignment and governance- Partner with the Payment Operations leadership team to define the target operating model and strategic priorities across Processing, Investigations and related activities. Ensure Payment Operations priorities and plans remain tightly aligned to the DOME(Domestic and Emerging Payments ) and CBCC (Cross Border Cross Currency Payments ) GPS Sub-Value Streams, reflecting Sub-Value Streams  roadmaps, Objectives and Key Results and investment decisions.
- Elimination, standardisation and automation - Maintain a consolidated pipeline of simplification and automation initiatives across payment processing, repairs, exceptions, returns/rejects and investigations. Track delivery, adoption and benefits realisation, ensuring clear ownership and timely escalation of risks and issues. Coordinate with Technology and Product on design, prioritisation and rollout of scalable solutions (including GenAI Generative Artificial Intelligence  where appropriate).
- Objectives and Key Results , Management Information  and performance management - Design and maintain the Management Information  suite and dashboards for Payment Operations. Run regular performance reviews with the leadership team, ensuring actions are agreed, owned and closed. Provide forward-looking insights on capacity, performance and emerging risks to support decision-making.
- Operational governance, risk and control - Maintain a consolidated RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies ) and control action log across Payment Operations activities.Track remediation of audit, regulatory and control issues, ensuring sustainable closure and evidence. Coordinate operational readiness for major change events (e.g., International Organization for Standardization - 20022, scheme/network changes), including sign-offs and communications.
- Client experience and service partnership - Track delivery of initiatives that improve client outcomes, such as reduced TAT, fewer repairs/returns and better payment status transparency. Maintain a single view of client-impacting issues and themes and ensure root-cause actions are progressed with accountable owners. Prepare materials for key internal and, where appropriate, client-facing forums on operational performance and change.
- Global operating model and regional connectivity - Run connectivity routines with regional operations leads to ensure two-way feedback and consistent execution of global standards. Track progress on harmonisation, follow-the-sun coverage and tooling adoption, while documenting justified local deviations.
- Workforce efficiency, financial planning and investments - Lead the planning rhythm for headcount, productivity and cost-to-serve across Payment Operations. Track delivery of productivity initiatives and evidence benefits in MI and financials. Coordinate investment cases and funding requests, ensuring alignment with the Payment Operations roadmap and Head of Business Management, GPS Operations priorities
- Talent, culture and ways of working -  Support the Payment Operations leadership team in running leadership communications, engagement and change adoption routines. Coordinate capability uplift plans with HR (Human Resources ) and functional leaders. Promote clear roles, decision rights and hand-offs across Operations, Technology, Product, FCC (Financial Crime Compliance ) and Service.
- Principal accountabilities (outcomes) -  Strong, aligned partnership between the Head of Business Management, GPS Operations and the Payment Operations leadership team, with clear priorities and governance. A defined and agreed future-state for Payment Operations and visible progress against the roadmap. Measurable improvements in processing and investigations performance (e.g., higher STP ( Straight Through Processing ), lower reair/return rates, improved SLA ( Service Level Agreement )/TAT ( Turnaround Time ), reduced backlog/ageing)

To be successful you will:

- Experience in payments operations within a large, regulated financial institution, ideally covering both payment processing and investigations across multiple rails/markets.
- Proven ability to turn strategy into execution through roadmaps, OKRs (Objectives and Key Results ), governance routines and RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies )/benefits tracking.
- Strong understanding of operational risk and control in payments, including audit, remediation and resilience expectations.
- Data-driven, with experience using operational MI to drive performance, prioritisation and investment decisions.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including experience engaging senior forums.
- Clear, concise communicator, comfortable working across global, multi-cultural teams and through ambiguity.
- Experience supporting workforce and financial planning (forecasting, cost-to-serve, productivity).
- Degree or equivalent experience; qualifications in change/operational excellence (e.g., Agile, Lean/Six Sigma) are an advantage.
