Job Purpose

The IT Buyer supports the procurement lifecycle of IT-related goods and services. This role focuses on executing operational procurement tasks, supporting vendor interactions, and ensuring timely and compliant purchasing activities. The IT Buyer works closely with senior procurement team members to learn category fundamentals, develop negotiation and analytical skills, and progressively build expertise in IT procurement processes.

Responsibilities

- Process purchase requisitions and convert them into purchase orders accurately and on time

- Track order status, follow up with suppliers, and resolve basic delivery or invoicing issues

- Maintain procurement documentation and ensure data accuracy across procurement tools and systems

- Assist in communicating with vendors to obtain quotes, clarify requirements, and track deliveries

- Support Buyers/Senior Buyers in conducting basic vendor evaluations and performance monitoring

- Engage with internal stakeholders to clarify needs and ensure smooth procurement flow

- Ensure all purchasing activities adhere to company policies, internal controls, and compliance standards

- Support contract administration tasks such as document collection, signature routing, and repository maintenance

- Assist in gathering price benchmarks, market information, and supplier data

- Update reports, procurement dashboards, or spend analyses under guidance from senior team members

- Contribute to identifying cost-saving opportunities through basic data insights

- Participate in process optimization initiatives within the procurement team

- Learn and apply best practices in IT procurement and vendor management

- Proactively seek ways to improve efficiency, accuracy, and service to internal stakeholders

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, IT, Supply Chain, Economics, or related field

- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn procurement processes

- Basic understanding of procurement principles or supply chain fundamentals

- Good communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams

- Familiarity with procurement systems or ERP tools

- Internship or 2–3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or administrative roles

- Interest in building a career in IT procurement
