Position Overview
South Seas is seeking a dependable and hardworking Golf Course Landscaper to support the daily maintenance and appearance of our golf course and surrounding landscaped areas. This position plays an important role in maintaining course conditions and ensuring the golf experience meets South Seas standards.
The Golf Course Landscaper performs a variety of outdoor maintenance duties including mowing, trimming, edging, landscaping, debris removal, course setup, and general upkeep of golf course grounds. This is a hands-on position requiring the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and safely operate landscaping and golf course maintenance equipment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain golf course grounds, landscaping, and surrounding areas to established standards.
- Mow greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and other designated turf areas using appropriate equipment.
- Perform edging, trimming, blowing, and general landscape maintenance throughout the golf course.
- Assist with maintaining bunkers, including raking and restoring sand as needed.
- Plant, prune, weed, mulch, and maintain trees, shrubs, flowers, and landscaped areas.
- Remove leaves, branches, trash, and other debris from the golf course and surrounding areas.
- Assist with irrigation-related tasks and report damaged irrigation components, turf issues, or other maintenance concerns to leadership.
- Operate landscaping and golf course maintenance equipment safely, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, utility vehicles, and hand tools.
- Clean and properly store tools and equipment after use.
- Follow all safety procedures when operating equipment and handling landscaping materials.
- Assist with storm cleanup and course restoration as needed.
- Perform additional golf course maintenance and landscaping duties as assigned.
What are we looking for?
Qualifications
- Previous landscaping, grounds maintenance, golf course maintenance, or similar outdoor work experience preferred.
- Experience operating commercial landscaping equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of basic turf and landscape maintenance practices is a plus.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Dependable and able to report to work for scheduled early-morning shifts.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays based on operational needs.
- Must have valid driver's license, MVR will be checked.
- Background Screening Required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in heat, humidity, sun, rain, and other weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, push, and pull throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate landscaping equipment and utility vehicles.
- Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks associated with golf course and landscape maintenance.
Schedule
This is a hands-on outdoor position that may require early-morning shifts, weekends, and holidays based on golf course operations and maintenance needs.
