Position Summary
The Event Management Internship will focus on developing policies, procedures, and best practices for common use of our event facilities at Texas Tech Credit Union. The Event Management Intern’s core impact rests in their ability to organize the logistics of multiple venue sites with varying internal and external end users. Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve Credit Union members and co-workers pleasantly and professionally in accordance with our core values of Trust, Respect, Excellence, Kindness, and Stewardship.
Greet and welcome every member in a professional manner.
- Represent Texas Tech Credit Union to all current members, vendors, business partners, and future members in a courteous, professional manner.
- Provide an example to Branch staff that encourages positive continued relationships and community partnerships.
- Resolve escalated member concerns.
- Answer member requests, inquiries, complaints, and concerns in a timely, effective, and kind manner whether received in-person, online, or by telephone.
- Review and recommend edits to the Texas Tech Credit Union’s current Facilities Use policy to ensure alignment with best practices and industry standards
- Develop a logistics plan to incorporate into daily procedures related to hosting events in Texas Tech Credit Union facilities
Plan should include request intake/review/approval, event space setup protocols, departmental coordination for pre-setup, “day of” issue resolution plans and associated contact information, and clean/up tear down procedures
- Ensure timely communication with venue guests in collaboration with the Branch Support Specialist(s) to coordinate all details of their respective events
- Maintain positive working relationships with internal departments and external vendors
- Leverage current technology to increase efficiencies in venue space requests and management
Make recommendations related to technology considerations that assist with event management
- Build and update monthly reports that reflect the number of events hosted in Texas Tech Credit Union commons spaces as well as the number of attendees for each event
- Ensure effective risk management and regulatory compliance
Maintain compliance with all banking regulations and internal policies.
- Enforce effective internal controls and risk management procedures.
Qualifications
Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Restaurant, Hotel, & Institutional Management, Event Management, Hospitality & Retail Management, or closely related field preferred.
- Strong upward, lateral, and downward communication skills.
- Possess excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards, confidentiality, and compliance with regulations
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and occasionally lift moderate-weight items.
