About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and curious c o-op to join our Pharmacology team for a 6-month term . In this role, the successful candidate will perform biochemical and cell-based assays under the guidance and mentorship of a Pharmacology team member . In addition to supporting ongoing team priorities to progress Abiologics ’ pipeline , the co-op will execute an independent project intended to advance Abiologics ’ platform, with support from their mentor and the broader Pharmacology team. This role will collaborate cross-functionally with a diverse design-make-test team across Abiologics , offering hands-on exposure to how a Flagship Pioneering-founded biotechnology company operationalizes discovery science.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform cell-based and biochemical assays under the guidance of a Pharmacology team member to support pipeline programs

- E xecute an independent project, developed with a mentor, intended to advance Abiologics ’ platform technology

- Assist with mammalian cell culture, including maintenance of cell lines, transient and stable transfection, and generation of reporter cell lines

- Support execution of cell-based and bioanalytical assays such as q PCR , Western blot, flow cytometry, and reporter gene assays

- Help analyze and interpret experimental data, and present findings to the Pharmacology team and broader project teams

- Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory notebooks in accordance with good documentation practices

- Collaborate cross-functionally with members of the design-make-test team, including Computational Design and Chemistry & Screening

- Present a summary of project progress and outcomes at the conclusion of the co-op term

Experience & Qualifications

- Currently pursuing a BS or MS in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or a closely related discipline ; master ’ s students preferred

- Coursework and/or hands-on laboratory experience with mammalian cell culture techniques

- Familiarity with, or coursework exposure to, cell-based and biochemical assay techniques such as qPCR , Western blot, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence staining, TR-FRET, or reporter gene assays

- Strong attention to detail and good record-keeping habits, with the ability to maintain a clear and accurate laboratory notebook

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey scientific data and findings clearly

- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

- Genuine curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new techniques and adapting to evolving project needs

- Prior research, internship, or co-op experience in an academic, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical setting is preferred
