Senior Contract Manager

# Job Description Summary
The Senior Contract Manager provides commercial and contract-management leadership for complex equipment and extended-scope gas turbine power plant projects in the United States and international markets. In this highly visible role, you will partner with project, sourcing, legal, insurance, and other cross-functional teams to protect GE Vernova’s commercial position, prevent and mitigate high-value contractual risks, and drive the timely resolution of claims and contract changes. Your expertise will directly support disciplined project execution, stronger customer and supplier outcomes, and the reliable delivery of critical energy infrastructure.

Job Description

- Research, develop, and implement strategies to prevent and mitigate contractual and commercial risk.
- Manage and drive contract change-order execution in accordance with GE Vernova’s contractual entitlement, including claims for extensions of time and other engineering, procurement, and construction matters.
- Draft, negotiate, and support claims, settlement agreements, customer correspondence, replies, notices, and change orders.
- Provide contractual analysis and interpretation of project commercial issues and drive them to successful resolution and closure.
- Research, pursue, negotiate, and secure insurance claim recoveries.
- Drive supplier recovery activities in partnership with Sourcing.
- Perform pre-award risk analyses of customer contract terms and conditions.
- Develop and negotiate terms and conditions with major subcontractors.
- Confirm that appropriate insurance policies are in place for assigned projects.
- Maintain accurate, timely records and supporting documentation for delays, claims, back charges, rejections, vendor recoveries, insurance recoveries, and other risk-mitigation activities.
- Partner with Project Managers to ensure contractual notices and deliverables are submitted on time.
- Obtain management authorization to release new projects through the electronic order release system (eARS), maintain eARS records, and issue internal change orders as required.
- Visit customer and project sites to lead contract analyses, develop solutions, and present claims-mitigation positions to customers.
- Work effectively with cross-functional teams located across multiple regions.
- Travel to project sites in the United States and Latin America, as required.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of five years of contract administration experience.
- Minimum of five years of project management experience or equivalent experience.
- Experience managing claims and reading, interpreting, and drafting contracts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, law, or another technical field.
- Strong presentation, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Advanced ability to interpret and develop contract terms and conditions.
- Solid understanding of business law fundamentals.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex matters concurrently while maintaining a strong sense of urgency and customer focus.
- Five or more years of claims-management experience.
- Experience with domestic and international prime contracts.
- Experience negotiating construction claims.
- Developer or engineering, procurement, and construction experience, preferably in the power industry.
- Experience preparing complex presentations and using standard business software.
- Graduate of a Project Management Leadership Program (PMLP).

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $127,500.00 and $212,500.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
