Lam’s Global Trade organization enables compliant and efficient movement of goods, technology, and data worldwide. Within Global Trade, the Global Trade Automation & Systems team drives trade compliance excellence and operational efficiency through automation initiatives, digital transformation programs, and enterprise system enablement. The team delivers scalable technology solutions, process improvements, data and reporting capabilities, and user enablement that help Global Trade stakeholders worldwide make faster, better-informed decisions while supporting compliant and predictable business execution.

The impact you’ll make

Join Lam as a Global Trade Business Operations Analyst supporting automation, enterprise systems, and digital transformation across Global Trade. In this role, you will translate complex trade compliance and operational needs into scalable system solutions, lead cross-functional process improvement initiatives, and help modernize the tools, data, and workflows that enable compliant global business execution. Your work will directly improve user experience, reporting accuracy, operational efficiency, and readiness for future Global Trade capabilities.

What you’ll do

Stakeholder partnership:  Partner with Global Trade leadership, SMEs, business teams, IT/GIS, and vendors to clarify needs, manage dependencies, and align priorities across global stakeholders.

SAP and Global Trade systems: Own and support Global Trade system enhancements from intake through launch, including requirements, solution design, testing, deployment, adoption, and post-launch support.

Business analysis:  Document user stories, business requirements, acceptance criteria, process flows, data mappings, business rules, KPIs, and functional specifications that translate business needs into actionable technology outcomes.

Process improvement:  Analyze current-state trade compliance and operational processes, identify gaps, and drive simplification, standardization, scalability, and continuous improvement.

Testing and readiness:  Plan and support UAT, test cases, defect triage, regression testing, release validation, go/no-go readiness, business sign-off, and hyper care.

Data, reporting, and insights:  Improve data quality, reporting, dashboards, and single-source-of-truth practices across SAP, SAP GTS, Power BI, Power Apps, Microsoft Dynamics, and related enterprise systems.

Adoption and change management:  Drive user adoption through training, communications, demos, user guides, onboarding, access management, and support improvements.

Project coordination:  Maintain project trackers, action item logs, decision records, status updates, open questions, and readiness checklists to keep delivery milestones on track.

Who we’re looking for

Experience: 5–10 years of experience in business analysis, SAP/SAP GTS systems, Global Trade Compliance, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Enterprise applications, or digital transformation programs.

ERP and Global Trade systems: Hands-on experience with SAP ECC, SAP GTS 11i and SAP GTS, edition for SAP HANA (E4H).

Business Analysis Skills:  Experience gathering requirements, writing user stories and acceptance criteria, documenting processes, mapping workflows, and translating business needs into system requirements.

Process and Data:  Strong understanding of business processes, trade compliance, trade operations, data quality, reporting, dashboards, master data management, and enterprise data governance.

Delivery and testing:  Experience supporting Agile or Scrum delivery, backlog grooming, sprint planning, UAT, defect management, release readiness, business sign-off, and post-launch hyper care.

Communication: Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to explain business and technical topics clearly to internal and external audiences.

Change Management:  Experience creating training materials, release communications, user guides, and adoption support for business users.

Preferred qualifications

Experience in the semiconductor industry or another highly regulated global manufacturing environment.

Experience with SAP ECC, SAP GTS 11i, SAP GTS edition for HANA, and related Global Trade Compliance capabilities.

Tools:  Familiarity with Power BI, SharePoint, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar collaboration and reporting platforms.

Business Process Automation (BPA): Experience with Microsoft Power Apps or similar low-code/no-code automation platforms, Microsoft Power Automate or similar process automation tools, Microsoft Visio or similar process visualization tools, and AI-enabled workflows.

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
