Emerging/High Growth Counsel (5-10 yrs)

Its founding team brings experience from frontier AI labs and leading law firms. <meta />Blackletter is making its earliest hires and is seeking an Emerging Companies Lawyer with 5–10 years of experience who wants to help build a new kind of law firm.

In this role you will advise the firm's growing roster of technology and high-growth clients across venture financings, commercial and technology contracts, M&A, and employment matters. You will also work with Blackletter's engineers to design the technology that powers the firm's legal services, shaping how legal work get done.

The ideal candidates will have <meta />5–10 years of emerging companies or corporate/commercial experience at a leading firm and/or in-house, strong commercial judgment, clear communication skills, and enthusiasm for using technology to reshape legal service delivery.

This is a unique founding-stage opportunity to be an emerging companies lawyer in a start-up environment without the traditional billable hour model. Competitive compensation plus equity. Toronto-based hybrid role, three days per week in the office.
