Job Description

Within the AI & Data Business Unit in Sydney, you will help our clients transform their business processes through Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, and Data Science. Working alongside Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, Solution Architects, and Platform Engineers, and step-by-step with clients, you will design, build, and deploy AI and data solutions that create measurable business value. Depending on client needs and your profile, your assignments may span the two areas below:

AI & Generative AI Engineering

- Assist the GenAI Solution Architect in designing scalable and secure AI solutions.

- Develop applications powered by foundation models, both self-managed and API-accessible, that meet business needs and comply with applicable regulations (GDPR, EU AI Act, model licenses, etc.).

- Design prompting and orchestration strategies to improve reasoning, controllability, reliability, and user experience.

- Design and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems leveraging enterprise knowledge sources, semantic search, and source attribution.

- Design, implement, and optimize agentic AI systems using orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel, or equivalent.

- Develop AI agents capable of tool usage, workflow orchestration, planning, reasoning, memory management, and human-in-the-loop interactions.

- Architect AI solutions integrating enterprise systems, APIs, databases, and knowledge repositories.

- Evaluate and select the most appropriate models based on business requirements, performance, latency, and cost constraints.

- Monitor AI system performance in production and contribute to observability, evaluation, and governance practices.

Data Science & Machine Learning

- Machine Learning and Statistics: build explanatory and predictive models to support decision-making (supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms, econometrics, time series forecasting, reinforcement learning, etc.).

- Deep Learning: intelligent processing of unstructured data such as text (Natural Language Processing), images (Computer Vision), and audio (Speech-to-Text and Text-to-Speech).

- Generative AI & Large Language Models (LLMs): design and deploy LLM-based solutions (GPT, Claude, Mistral, etc.), develop RAG pipelines, and create business-focused conversational assistants and autonomous agents.

- Operations Research: help design and implement constrained optimization solutions and simulation models.

- Big Data: apply algorithmic knowledge to process large volumes of structured and unstructured data.

- Conduct research on the latest advances in foundation models, multimodal AI, and agentic AI systems.

Qualifications

You hold a Master's degree from an engineering school or an advanced degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, information processing, statistical engineering, or econometrics, and you have at least one year of technical experience in Data Science, Big Data, or building AI solutions.

You are proficient in Python programming and code versioning. You have knowledge of at least one of the following: Generative AI frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, RAG) and advanced prompting techniques, Deep Learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow), or strong statistics and quantitative analysis skills (theoretical and practical knowledge, intuition, and ease in understanding and applying models). Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and API development (Flask, FastAPI) is a plus.

- Anyone over 18 and under 28 years of age on the date of registration may apply for an International Volunteer Program (VIE).
- Departure on assignment must take place no later than the day of your 29th birthday. Beyond this, no exceptions are granted.
