The pay is $38.50 up to $51.50

AGUs strategic communications and marketing (SCM) program is designed to advance AGUs global reputation as an authoritative voice for the Earth and space sciences.

As the Manager, Communications, you will provide strategic communications and marketing support via a robust and engaging digital and social media strategy. You will work in partnership with programs and initiatives across the organization. You will develop digital communications and marketing strategies, in collaboration with the SCM team, for launch activities and the ongoing success in reaching program goals, including generating and engaging global audiences.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Manage communications and marketing efforts on AGUs digital and social media platforms, setting strategic goals and expectations and producing content.
Assess current and future digital communications and marketing needs.
Work in partnership with AGU program teams to help them identify target audiences and how best to promote, recruit, and continue long-term engagement with those audiences.
Recommend and implement long- and short-term communication strategies.
Provide analysis and recommendations to the SCM team to develop umbrella communication and marketing plans that connect audience goals across programs.
Works with SCM team to develop consistent digital content related to AGUs programs and strategic goals for both internal and external audiences for social media channels (e.g., Instagram stories, WeChat, TikTok, YouTube)
Using analytics, develop innovative ways to engage AGU members, the Earth and space science community and the public on social media and other channels.
Work closely with the Marketing Data and Analytics Manager to assess engagement activity and make recommendations.
Assist in the monitoring the AGU news inbox.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING?
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
3-6 years of related work experience.
Knowledge and experience managing social media and utilizing social media management software including analytics.
Adept at developing and shaping creative, innovative digital content.
Ability to identify emerging trends and opportunities for engagement.
Excellent judgment for reputational management and crisis communications.
Excellent research, writing and communications skills with a strong preference for proficiency in AP style.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite specially Word, Excel, Word Press, and Outlook.
Ability to travel 5% of the time.
