About this role

Capitex is a specialist financial crime compliance firm. We work only in financial crime - AML, KYC, KYB, sanctions, transaction monitoring and fraud - and we resource managed services and remediation programmes across London, Dubai and New York.

We are recruiting a Deputy Pod Lead for a Know Your Assets managed service supporting a global asset manager's alternative investments business. Know Your Assets is the financial crime process used to assess the risk attached to a fund's underlying investments: the holding itself, its ownership and control structure, and the counterparties involved, including sanctions, PEP and adverse media exposure.

The Deputy Pod Lead runs the pod day to day and deputises for the Pod Lead. You are the first escalation point for the analysts, you keep work moving against SLA, and you handle sensitive communications with investment desks and with counterparties under review. You will also process cases directly when volumes or deadlines require it.

Responsibilities

- Manage daily allocation, prioritisation and workflow across the pod

- Act as first escalation point for analysts on technical and process questions

- Deputise fully for the Pod Lead, including stakeholder communications, during absence

- Manage sensitive communications with investment desks and with counterparties subject to due diligence

- Review completed cases and provide practical feedback before QC or sign-off

- Track ageing, blockers and outstanding documentation, and chase to closure

- Contribute to management information and SLA reporting

- Process complex cases directly where volumes or deadlines require it

Requirements

Essential

- Strong experience in financial crime due diligence, KYC, KYB or KYA, including enhanced and complex cases

- Experience supervising, coordinating or mentoring analysts, formally or informally

- Confident handling direct communication with business stakeholders and counterparties

- Sound understanding of ownership and control structures, sanctions, PEP and adverse media risk

- Strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to give clear feedback on others' work

- Well organised, with the judgement to know what to escalate and when

Desirable

- Experience in asset management, private equity, real estate, infrastructure or private debt

- Prior experience on a managed service or large remediation programme

- Familiarity with the Money Laundering Regulations and FCA expectations

- Experience with screening and case management platforms

Benefits

- Long-term engagement on a multi-year programme with a global asset manager

- Competitive day rate, confirmed at offer stage

- Clear route to Pod Lead as the programme scales

- Exposure to complex alternative investment structures and senior stakeholders

- Ongoing pipeline of financial crime work through Capitex on completion
