Position Summary

The Breakfast Attendant is responsible for delivering a clean, consistent, and engaging breakfast experience that sets the tone for the guest’s entire day. This role executes through five core responsibilities while consistently meeting The Bar for Focus, Mission, Kindness, Cleanliness, Efficiency, and Attitude.

The 5 Roles of the Breakfast Attendant

1. Food Presentation — “Make It Craveable”

You ensure all food is fresh, well-stocked, and visually appealing at all times.

Key Expectations:

- Food looks fresh, full, and ready to eat at all times

- No empty pans or poorly presented stations

- Coffee, juice, and hot items are maintained continuously

- Follow brand breakfast standards at all times

The Bar Connection:

- Focus: Be where your feet are—pay attention to product condition

- Mission: High quality; details matter

- Clean-Clean: “Like new” appearance at all times

2. Standards & Food Safety — “Do It Right Every Time”

You protect the guest by strictly following all food safety and brand standards.

Key Expectations:

- Follow all health and safety regulations with no shortcuts

- Maintain proper food temperatures, storage, and labeling

- Use equipment, chemicals, and processes correctly

- Report and resolve safety issues immediately

- Mission: Personal accountability

3. Guest Engagement — “Be the Host”

You create meaningful, positive interactions with every guest.

Key Expectations:

- Greet and engage every guest in a warm, professional manner

- Check back with guests and respond to needs

- Ask:

“Did we do something great?”

- “Is there anything we can improve?”

- Invite them back

- Maintain a visible, confident “stage presence” while working

4. Cleanliness & Sanitation — “Own the Space”

You are responsible for the cleanliness of everything in your line of sight.

Key Expectations:

- Clean and sanitize all breakfast areas continuously

- Maintain clean workstations throughout service

- Perform routine and deep cleaning of all equipment

- “Clean as you go” at all times

5. Production & Inventory Control — “Right Product, Right Time, Right Cost”

You ensure the correct amount of product is available without shortages or waste.

Key Expectations:

- Maintain proper levels of food throughout service

- Adjust production based on demand and occupancy

- Prevent outages and overproduction

- Support inventory counts and ordering discipline

- Focus: Plan execution and meet service demands

Qualifications

Core Responsibilities

- Set up, execute, and break down breakfast service

- Act as a goodwill ambassador for the hotel

- Maintain speed, organization, and follow-through

- Arrive on time and follow assigned schedule

Success Standards (The Scorecard)

A successful Breakfast Attendant consistently demonstrates:

- No product outages during peak breakfast hours

- Clean, organized, “like-new” breakfast environment

- Full compliance with food safety and brand standards

- Positive guest interactions and feedback

Physical Requirements

- Standing and walking for full shift

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

- Work in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment
