# Position Overview
Under the Director of Social Work, this incorporates social work functions and skills into the inpatient hospital setting. Medical Social Workers serve as integral members of interdisciplinary healthcare teams, providing essential support to individuals facing health-related challenges. They bridge the gap between medical professionals and patients, ensuring that emotional, social, and practical needs are addressed alongside medical treatment.
Primary Department, Division, or Unit:
Social Services, UHS Wilson Medical Center
Work Shift and Schedule:
This is a per diem position, which means you will work on an as needed, agreed upon basis. Working hours will be assigned by your manager.
Compensation Range:
$30.58 - $45.86 per hour, depending on experience
This position is not eligible for benefits.

Education/Experience
Minimum Required:
- Master’s degree in social work
Preferred:
- 3 year’s post graduate experience
License/Certification
Minimum Required:
- NYS Licensed Master Social Worker LMSW Limited Permit - Those who are hired with a limited permit must have their full license 1 year after obtaining their limited permit.
Preferred:
- NYS Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
