Scientist III - Global Flow

In this role, we will rely on you to:

- Independently execute and support flow cytometry studies from study setup through data generation, analysis, and reporting

- Develop, optimize, qualify, validate, and transfer flow cytometry methods in support of preclinical and clinical studies

- Design and optimize multiparametric flow cytometry panels, including selection and evaluation of antibody clones, fluorochromes, titrations, controls, sample matrices, and gating strategies

- Perform flow cytometry sample preparation, staining, data acquisition, analysis, and interpretation

- Operate conventional and spectral flow cytometry instrumentation, including platforms such as Cytek Aurora and BD flow cytometers

- Develop and optimize assays utilizing biological matrices such as whole blood, fresh or cryopreserved PBMCs, bone marrow, tissue, and cell lines

- Analyze and interpret complex flow cytometry data and prepare data summaries and presentations for internal and client reviews

- Evaluate assay performance characteristics including precision, accuracy, sensitivity, selectivity, stability, robustness, linearity, and other applicable parameters

- Troubleshoot complex assay, sample, reagent, instrumentation, and data analysis issues and develop scientifically sound solutions

- Apply knowledge of immunology and cell biology to immunophenotyping, biomarker, and functional cellular assay applications

- Support study activities involving applications such as immune profiling, receptor occupancy, target engagement, intracellular marker analysis, proliferation, and other functional cellular endpoints as applicable

- Ensure proper sample identification, handling, processing, storage, and tracking throughout study execution

- Maintain accurate and complete documentation in accordance with study protocols, SOPs, and applicable regulatory and quality requirements

- Review and interpret scientific data to identify trends, inconsistencies, and potential risks to study execution or data quality

- Prepare and review protocols, study documentation, data summaries, and reports

- Communicate scientific findings, study progress, technical challenges, and recommendations to project teams, management, and clients as appropriate

- Provide technical guidance and training to less experienced scientific staff

- Collaborate with Quality Assurance and other cross-functional teams to resolve study or data-related issues

- Maintain knowledge of current scientific, technological, and regulatory developments relevant to flow cytometry

- Perform all aspects of the job in a way that supports company brand and supports company mission, vision, and values

To qualify specifically for this role, you will have:

- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Immunology, Cell Biology, or related scientific field

- At least 4 years of relevant laboratory experience in flow cytometry, immunology, cell biology, bioanalysis, or a related area

- Strong hands-on experience with flow cytometry techniques and instrumentation

- Experience with spectral and/or conventional flow cytometry

- Experience with multiparametric flow cytometry, including panel design and optimization, staining, controls, data acquisition, gating strategies, and data interpretation

- Experience developing, optimizing, qualifying, validating, and/or transferring flow cytometry methods

- Experience working with biological matrices such as whole blood and PBMCs

- Strong understanding of immunology, cell biology, immunophenotyping, and cell-based assay principles

- Experience troubleshooting complex flow cytometry assays, reagents, instrumentation, and data quality issues

- Experience with flow cytometry data analysis software

- Strong understanding of assay performance characteristics and fit-for-purpose method development and validation

- Experience working within SOP-driven and regulated laboratory environments

- Strong technical documentation skills with a commitment to data integrity and scientific quality

- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate scientific information effectively

- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with scientific and cross-functional teams

- Ability to provide technical guidance and training to less experienced scientists

Depending on your background and qualifications, we may consider hiring you for one of three levels of Scientist roles at KCAS Bio. This will be determined during the interview process.
