General Dynamics in St Leonards-on-Sea currently provide avionic mission computing systems for a wide range of military fast jets, helicopters, and UAV’s. Recent success has resulted in General Dynamics developing the next generation of Advanced High Performance, Safety Critical Mission Computer Systems to meet the needs of latest platforms in development by several aircraft manufacturers. These Mission Computing Systems provide the functionality that integrates aircraft systems, sensor systems and stores management systems with the information and control systems required by the aircrew to meet the demanding operational needs of these aircraft.
Job Description
As a Junior Project Controller , you will work with a range of key stakeholders across the business, primarily supporting Project Managers and Cost Account Managers. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Support the creation and maintenance of project plans and schedules.
- Help monitor project costs, resources, risks and progress against agreed plans.
- Collect project information and produce accurate reports for Project Managers and other stakeholders.
- Support project reviews, risk meetings and the tracking of actions.
- Highlight potential issues or changes and help the team identify appropriate solutions.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- An interest in developing a career in project planning, project controls or project management.
- A degree, apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Project Management, Business Management or a related subject, or relevant experience within project administration or support.
- Good IT skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organisation and time management skills, with good attention to detail.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and project stakeholders.
- A proactive approach, with a willingness to learn, ask questions and adapt to changing project priorities.
- Previous exposure to Microsoft Project, scheduling, risk management or project reporting would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation
Additional Information
This role has a salary of between £27,990 and £33,000 plus our flexible benefits package.
We are open to this role being spent with time working from home and in the office (hybrid - typically 3 days working in office) on a weekly basis or fully in our offices.
