Senior Sales Accountant

The Senior Sales Accountant is a member of a collaborative team with a focus on revenue accounting and serves as a business partner to dealer’s sales offices. The position will take on a broad range of responsibilities related to accounts receivables, sales, art purchasing journal entries; reporting cash receipts in multiple currencies and making entries directly into the gallery ERP system; reconciliation of trial balance accounts including sales, sales tax, receivables, inventory, artist production and artist payables; reviewing and generating corresponding entries for recognizing sales according to GAAP; reporting sales to management; completing sales reports of gallery sales for artists; review of / revisions to customer statements and support to dealer’s offices of customer account information. The position requires attention to detail and is responsible for publishing reports ready to go outside the gallery to artists, consignors and clients.

Requirements

What You’ll Be Doing:

- Review, release and post entries for sales, consignment, commission and inventory purchases, etc.
- Generate and review artist’s monthly/quarterly consignor/sales reports
- Work closely with colleagues to complete month end closing process, including posting of journal entries, preparation of account analyses
- Support midyear audit reviews and international year end audits
- Assist in the creation of new reporting capabilities
- Generate monthly state sales tax schedules for review, submission and payment
- Prepare and document and update policies and procedures, as needed
- Assist in generating, analyzing and correctly reporting weekly sales to management
- Assist and support international sales accounting teams in their duties and with Global review of the month end sales close
- Other ad-hoc projects as needed

What You’ll Bring:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 7+ years of relevant accounting experience
- Experience with a middle-market or high-end accounting program; Sage Intacct a plus
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel with a strong emphasis on combining and using higher functions including SUMIF, INDEX-MATCH & PIVOT TABLES
- Must be a team player with excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with all management levels
- Strong service provider abilities and willingness to support other offices
- Pro-active mindset and takes initiative to solve issues
- A collaborative working style and willingness to accept direct accountability
- Detail-oriented, analytical and has strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Enthusiasm for assisting in process improvements and challenging the status quo

Benefits

Salary range is $80,000 to $100,000 depending on experience.
