Overview
The LMS Operations Team Lead is a senior analyst role responsible for supporting in the coordination of liquidity and investment operations activities to ensure the accurate and timely execution of business-as-usual (BAU) activities and strategic initiatives by providing operational guidance, facilitating collaboration across teams while maintaining a strong control environment and driving operational excellence.
The individual will act as a key partner to operations management and will be expected to lead through influence rather than direct reporting responsibility. The role requires strong operational expertise, executive presence, and the ability to effectively communicate business impacts, risks, operational challenges, and recommendations to a wide range of stakeholders. In addition to supporting daily operations, the individual will facilitate project execution, operational readiness initiatives, process improvements, audit engagements, and governance activities.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a senior subject matter expert across liquidity management and investment operations processes, providing guidance and support to team members and business partners.
- Execute and oversee complex operational activities, ensuring requests are completed accurately and within established service levels.
- Act as a primary escalation point for operational issues, service disruptions, client-impacting events, and complex investigations requiring cross-functional coordination.
- Facilitate daily operational activities across both Liquidity and Investment Operations teams to ensure delivery of business objectives and service commitments.
- Support operational readiness, migration, implementation, and process transition initiatives, including post-implementation stabilization efforts.
- Partner with Product, Technology, Operations, Risk & Control teams to support strategic initiatives, process enhancements, and platform improvements.
- Prepare and present operational metrics, business reviews, management reporting, project updates, and executive-level summaries.
- Analyze operational trends, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency, scalability, and service quality.
- Support audits, regulatory reviews, due diligence activities, control assessments, and records management requirements through effective coordination and documentation.
- Identify, assess, escalate, and support remediation of operational risks, control gaps, and process deficiencies while promoting a strong risk and control culture.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance operating procedures, training materials, process documentation, control inventories, and operational playbooks.
- Provide mentorship, knowledge sharing, and functional guidance to analysts and new team members while fostering operational excellence and continuous learning.
- Support business continuity planning, contingency events, production support activities, and critical operational initiatives as needed.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications
- 5-8 years of experience in Operations, Liquidity Management, Treasury Services, Investment Operations, Cash Management, or a related financial services function.
- Demonstrated experience leading initiatives, coordinating teams, and influencing outcomes without direct management responsibility.
- Strong understanding of liquidity products, investment operations, operational controls, risk management, and client servicing processes.
- Proven ability to lead discussions, facilitate meetings, and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and management.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to clearly articulate operational risks, business impacts, strategic recommendations, and complex concepts.
- Experience supporting business transformations, migrations, operational readiness activities, audits, and regulatory reviews.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and operational reporting tools.
Education
- Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience.
- Advanced or near native level English language skills.
Schedule
- Standard Shift: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM ET - 6:00 PM ET (Bogotá-based role).
- Operational Flexibility & Overtime: Flexibility to work additional hours during periods of elevated volume, month-end and quarter-end processing cycles, strategic initiatives, audits, migrations, and critical production events.
- Technology & Release Support: Availability to support periodic weekend activities related to technology deployments, disaster recovery testing, checkout validation, and system upgrade initiatives.
- Leadership & Project Support: Willingness to provide operational leadership, project coordination, and stakeholder support during critical business events, contingency situations, and strategic initiatives.
