Junior System Engineer

Reflexive Concepts is seeking a skilled Junior System Engineer to join our team!

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Collaborate closely with the Lead System Engineer and cross-functional development teams to facilitate the implementation of cloud-based systems, emphasizing functional testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) to verify system functionality and user experience.

- Manage requirements throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business needs, regulatory compliance, and technical standards.

- Develop comprehensive test plans for installation, integration, and acceptance phases, including documenting, executing, and reporting test outcomes in cloud infrastructures (e.g., AWS).

- Participate in agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning and retrospectives, to provide systems engineering insights and support iterative improvements.

- Communicate a shared technical and architectural vision for solutions developed by product teams, bridging gaps between engineering, development, and stakeholders to foster cohesive system design and deployment.

- Assist in troubleshooting cloud system issues, optimizing configurations, and ensuring scalability, security, and compliance with industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO, Section 508).

Required Qualifications:

- Active TS/SCI security clearance with Full Scope (FS) Polygraph.

- A bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and seven (7) years of experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. Twelve (12) years of Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

- Experience with cloud technologies and testing methodologies.

- Understanding of and experience using the Atlassian Suite, such as Jira for issue tracking and project management, and Confluence for documentation and knowledge base management.

- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), requirements elicitation, and compliance frameworks.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and align teams around a unified architectural vision.

Desired Skills:

- Knowledge of functional testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium) and UAT processes in agile environments.

- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and tools for automation, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab), and test management.

- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, CompTIA Security+, or similar.
