Manthey Hospitality is seeking a skilled Welder / Fitter / Fabricator to join our Fleet Maintenance team. This hands-on role is responsible for supporting the construction, repair, and maintenance of our vessels and marine infrastructure through high-quality steel and aluminum fabrication and welding.

This role is primarily land/dock-based at our Fleet Maintenance Center, with work performed on vessels, barges, gangways, and related marine structures.

What You'll Do

- Perform all work safely and in accordance with company safety standards and PPE requirements
- Cut, fit, fabricate, and weld steel and aluminum components to specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and measurements
- Select appropriate materials, welding equipment, and welding methods based on project requirements
- Operate hand and power tools including grinders, saws, sanders, calipers, and measuring devices
- Align, position, clamp, and secure components prior to welding
- Perform welding in a variety of positions using TIG, MMA, and other applicable processes
- Repair and reinforce vessel structures, gangways, docks, and related equipment
- Inspect completed work to ensure structural integrity, quality, and compliance with specifications
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition
- Assist with general ship repair and marine maintenance projects as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

- Minimum of one (1) year of welding and fabrication experience
- Experience welding both steel and aluminum
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Working knowledge of welding safety standards and PPE requirements
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable transportation
- Must be able to successfully pass a practical welding test
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- TWIC Card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) required or ability to obtain and maintain

Preferred Qualifications

- Marine, shipyard, or industrial fabrication experience
- Completion of a welding apprenticeship program
- AWS or other professional welding certifications
- Experience with vessel repair, structural fabrication, or marine construction projects

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces for extended periods
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to work at heights and utilize ladders, scaffolding, and fall-protection equipment when required
