About the role

We're looking for a Video Producer to join our Visual Design team and work closely with the Senior Video Producer to expand and accelerate Frontiers' video storytelling. In this role, you'll take ownership of video productions from planning and filming through to post-production, creating interviews, talking-head content, b-roll, and studio shoots for company-wide communications and campaigns.

As a second videographer, you'll have the opportunity to take ownership of independent shoots while also supporting larger productions led by the Senior Video Producer. You'll combine strong technical video skills with excellent organization, ensuring that shoots run smoothly, footage meets Frontiers' creative and technical standards, and media assets are efficiently managed from production through post-production.

You'll work closely with colleagues across Communications and Visual Design, as well as researchers, authors, employees, external contributors, and production partners. If you enjoy working both behind the camera and behind the scenes, solving problems on the go, and creating high-quality visual content in a fast-paced environment, you'll thrive in this role.

You'll also contribute to improving video production workflows by using technology, AI-powered tools, and consistent production practices to streamline scheduling, media management, transcription, subtitling, and post-production.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate video shoots end-to-end, including scheduling interviews, talking-head sessions, b-roll, and studio productions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare and distribute call sheets, coordinate shoot logistics, and ensure crews and on-camera participants have clear information about locations, timings, requirements, and expectations.
- Scout and book filming locations, studios, and meeting spaces, coordinating travel arrangements and equipment transportation for shoots outside Lausanne.
- Prepare, test, organize, and maintain camera, lighting, audio, and studio equipment, ensuring all production kits are ready for each assignment.
- Independently film interviews, talking-heads, b-roll, and studio content, operating professional camera, lighting, and audio equipment to a consistently high standard.
- Work as a second camera operator and provide technical support on larger and multi-camera productions led by the Senior Video Producer.
- Welcome and brief on-camera participants, helping guests feel comfortable and confident throughout the filming process while ensuring required release forms and consent documentation are completed.
- Ingest, back up, organize, and archive raw footage following established folder structures, file-naming conventions, and media management practices.
- Support post-production by cutting and editing footage, applying colour grading and established brand guidelines, creating and using motion graphics, and preparing subtitles and AI-assisted transcriptions.
- Work with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, and other relevant production tools to support high-quality video delivery.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external production partners, including freelance crew, studios, equipment suppliers, editors, and post-production specialists.
- Identify and resolve technical, logistical, and production challenges independently while maintaining quality, schedules, and production standards.
- Contribute to improving video production workflows, playbooks, and best practices, helping the team increase production capacity and deliver content efficiently.

Requirements

- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in video production, videography, or a similar role, with experience taking video projects from production planning and filming through to post-production.
- Strong technical video production skills, including professional camera operation, lighting, and audio recording, with the ability to independently deliver high-quality footage.
- Proficiency in video editing and post-production tools, particularly Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, with experience in editing, colour grading, and Adobe After Effects/motion graphics.
- Strong production coordination and organizational skills, with experience managing shoot schedules, call sheets, locations, equipment, travel, production documentation, and multiple stakeholders.
- Good digital media management skills, including footage ingestion, file organization, naming conventions, and backup procedures.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and project collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.
- Fluency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams, external production partners, and on-camera participants.
- A proactive and solutions-oriented approach, with the ability to troubleshoot technical and logistical challenges calmly and independently while maintaining production and brand standards.
- Familiarity with AI-powered tools for transcription, subtitling, or production workflows is an advantage.
- Willingness and ability to travel for filming assignments and flexibility to accommodate changing production schedules.
- A strong portfolio or showreel demonstrating relevant camera, lighting, sound, editing, and/or studio production experience.
