How you’ll make an impact in this role
- Manage payer denials and appeals by reviewing technical denials, determining appeal eligibility, preparing appeal correspondence, and tracking outcomes to support reimbursement efforts.
- Coordinate insurance carrier audit requests, respond to payer inquiries for medical records, and facilitate timely submission of required documentation.
- Collaborate with billing and revenue cycle teams to communicate audit and appeal findings, resolve claim issues, and support successful claim adjudication.
- Conduct charge capture and documentation audits to improve reimbursement accuracy, identify revenue opportunities, and promote overall financial performance.
- Office open 8AM-530PM Monday-Friday; Tier level requirements; Ideally looking for Monday and Friday availability and possible coverage for PTO requests.
What minimum requirements you’ll need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Education:
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
Additional Preferences :
- A minimum of one year of registered nurse experience preferably within the field of behavioral health is highly desired.
