How you’ll make an impact in this role

- Executive Ad Hoc Governance & Policy Dissemination: Facilitate and document ~45 monthly executive sessions with commercial and government payers, maintaining partnership agreements and ensuring all policy updates received are promptly shared with appropriate internal stakeholders.
- Complex Denial Mitigation & High-Dollar Escalations: Serve as the primary escalation lead and senior negotiator for complex, high-dollar claim disputes across five multi-state regions, leveraging revenue integrity tactics to drive rapid variance resolution and maximum reimbursement.
- Log Architecture, Auditing & Vendor Oversight: Direct the continuous auditing, triage, and monthly transmission of six specialized escalation logs, managing vendor streams (including R1 RCM) to ensure systematic inventory clearance and compliance with Ascension revenue standards.
- Team Leadership & Payer Portfolio Analytics: Direct and mentor Senior Analysts across review standards, documentation criteria, and daily task allocation, while conducting monthly aged inventory reviews to determine Legal or R1 escalations alongside monitoring payer contract provisions.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) preferred. Licensure required relevant to the state in which work is performed.

Education:

- High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.

Additional Preferences:

- Certifications & Payer Alignment Frameworks: Advanced revenue cycle certification (e.g., CRCR, CSPR, or CSPPM preferred) paired with direct experience structuring and facilitating strategic Ad Hoc or payer-provider alignment frameworks.
- Payer & Vendor Domain Expertise: Deep subject-matter expertise with major national and regional payer environments (e.g., UHC, BCBS, Cigna, Aetna, Humana) alongside practical integration experience with vendor ecosystems like R1 RCM.
