About this role
Ob jective:
The Fleet Mechanics primary function is to provide maintenance and repairs to all company vehicles and equipment. Vehicles include gasoline engines, electric pallet jacks and forklifts.
Accountabilities:
- Examine machines and oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems
- Conduct preventative maintenance, as scheduled, on machinery, systems, and automotive vehicles
- Repair and install major components
- Service & repair brakes
- Repair & replace tires
- Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Two to four years of experience in fleet operations
- Must be a self-starter, dependable, safety minded, detail oriented and organized with processes and paperwork
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
- Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis from ground level and overhead.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Ability to bend, kneel, stand, lift and perform physical labor for multiple hours at a time
- Ability to operate and maneuver a pallet jack with a weight load of approximately 2500 lbs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with sound customer service skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include some daily overtime, holidays, evenings and weekends
- Valid drivers license and excellent driving record are required
- Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen
- Class A CDL Preferred
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical if the candidate is a CDL driver
