Building Maintenance Assistant- JLL

What this job involves:

As a Building Maintenance Assistant at JLL, you'll play a vital role in keeping our clients' facilities running smoothly and efficiently. This hands-on position involves performing routine maintenance tasks, responding to service requests, and ensuring building systems operate at peak performance. You'll work alongside experienced technicians and facility managers who believe the most effective teams are built when everyone is empowered to thrive. Your contributions will directly impact the comfort and safety of building occupants while you develop practical skills in building operations. What your day-to-day will look like:

• Perform routine inspections of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety equipment

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders, addressing issues ranging from minor repairs to preventive maintenance tasks

• Assist senior technicians with larger maintenance projects and system installations

• Maintain accurate records of completed work orders, equipment inspections, and maintenance activities

• Monitor building operations and report any irregularities or potential problems to supervisors

• Maintain inventory of supplies and tools, ensuring proper organization of maintenance areas

• Support janitorial and cleaning operations as needed to maintain facility standards

Required qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 1-2 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities operations, or a related trade

• Basic knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical components

• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions

• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work from ladders or elevated platforms

Preferred qualifications:

• Technical certification or vocational training in facilities maintenance or a related field

• Experience working in commercial or industrial facilities

• Basic computer skills and familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)

• OSHA safety training or relevant safety certifications

• Customer service experience in a facilities or hospitality environment

Schedule : M-F 8AM-5PM
Location: New York, NY

This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Expected compensation for this position:

49,100.00 – 49,100.00 USD per year

Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
